Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (I owe someone an apology...)

When you say it’s just not going to happen with Arch being put in when Quinn looks terrible, he didn’t even get better in the OU game, he threw screens and a couple mid range balls badly missed. (Got bond hurt) on a terrible throw… am I the only person who has absolutely no doubt in my mind on that qualifying list that neither Arch or Quinn are on… that if Arch had played every snap this season he would still be ranked way higher #1 on that list. I love Quinn and wish he was having a better injury free start, but he’s not and never has so what does that say to know the best QB is sitting the bench? Why is he? If this is not politically correct I don’t apologize
I think Sark has a plan/idea and he's going to carry it out.

At what point does Ole Miss tire of Kiffin? Will the be happy to be perpetually in the discussion without the end results? Personally I feel like Kiffin is in that position where he needs to grow as a coach and make some changes but doesn't appear to be doing so.

If and when that happens does he join his friend for a season or two in Austin?
What's the alternative? Lane has them better than they were before.

This sounds like you believe Texas can and should be doing better than Milwee at the QB coach position, or that Sark should be taking more of a personal interest in QB coaching himself. I don't disagree.
I was talking about his personal quarterback coach. Not anyone on the Texas staff.

Killer for Quinn or for Sark?

This team has the makings of a national championship contender. You better be damn sure you are starting the right QB. I'll admit, I thought after the Michigan game that Quinn was that guy. However, when I remember Ach's last performance against MSU, and watch Ewers revert back to all his old tendencies it makes me wonder who the right guy is.
Quinn.

@Ketchum, to slightly alter one of the B/S questions... This year's Texas team is the deepest that you can remember??? I can't remember seeing this much quality depth...We are playing like 50 guys a game and there doesn't seem to be a dramatic drop off. I mean Lefau is getting a lot of PT but put some damn respect of Gbenda as he is also balling.... It's fun to watch.

I'll be honest I thought it would be a decade or more until we had a freshman receiver have me speak of them in the same sentence as X. Worthy. Only thing holding Wingo back is enough touches. He has only impressed so far this year. Can't say enough about him.
I'm going to go ahead and say it....Wingo is better than Worthy (not as fast but better hands, goes to the ball and is a tough runner) ... Ok now it's out there...

OU should dump Venables off at the desolate wasteland of the panhandle -- and make a play for Iowa State's Matt Campbell. Don't wait for him to go someplace else (e.g. Florida). Nobody has done more with less than that guy.

You knew Venables was dead man walking after that halftime interview, where he awkwardly balked at switching QBs. Sooner fans allergic to cringe had to rush themselves to the ER. Stoops and Riley would have put in a different QB without hesitation. They also wouldn't pretend like the offense was "ok" or look confused by the question. Brent is in way over his head and just isn't head coach material.

So you're suggesting that it is neither Sark's nor Milwee's job to fix Quinn's mechanics?

If that is true, it begs the question of Milwee...

That is literally why I asked the question. Are they going to be happy at 9-3 forever, knowing their place in the world? or at some point do they decide they think they can take the next step and end up taking 2 or 3 steps backwards?

They will give him another year. Foolishly.

I think there are too many cooks in the kitchen.

His personal quarterbacks coach is Mahomes' personal quarterback coach. I don't know that it's working.

Eventually, everyone wants more.

She's a little taller and has more butt, but they have a lot in common.

I get the Miley attraction. I'm more of a Miley fan in her earlier days--for sure. She might look really haggard and rough in a few years.
But Dua--in that video is Fan-fricken tastic!

Based on what?
This is just personal taste on my part--but she looks a little trashy now--possibly the drug usage is catching up--tatoos on the hands and fingers don't do it for me. Arms a little thing in comparison to the rest of her body.

Don't get me wrong--I do love tatoos (from the waste down especially).

She is keeping herself slim--for sure. I hope I'm wrong about my prediction.

I understand the Miley attraction--and she's got a really good voice and talent--I love "Rose Colored Lenses"--great song--IMO

Let me jog your memory ;) When someone from the current team makes a play like this as a DB then we can maybe start this convo over again

This guy should have been Co-MVP - best game ever seen a TE play - he was a 3rd and whatever 1st Down Machine

They also had to play against the second best team of all-time - that USC team as mentioned in earlier thread was stacked & 2 time defending National Champs.

Having just as much fun this year and getting those special vibes again.

Agreed!

Was talking with other friends and it's awesome to play your biggest rival - not have your best game and win by 31

Let's Dream Big & Hook 'Em!
Amazing play by Griffin--incredible player for Texas!

I'm ecstatic about what we did to okla--the second dismantling in 3 years--I have nothing to complain about today at all--what a transformation Sark has done thus far. I was at a party with some ou fans in attendance after the game, and I got to celebrate, gloat, hold court with them--set them straight about the direction of Texas vs ou etc etc.

I've been a big fan and believer of Ewers--but he needs to pick it up--that was a disappointing performance.
It's showtime man--the lights are on--time for him to show us all what's he got.
