This is exactly where we disagree. The answer to that is completely irrelevant, because you changed the game. There's layers to the initial question that don't exist in this question. Just at it's foundation, picking the best "athlete", which still needs a definition itself, instead of just picking who is the best player in one sport is a whole other game...and that's just one problem with the argument.

Best athlete = most dominant with respect to all eras and contexts. I'd argue as great as Babe was, and she was great, she was never more dominant than Biles has been. Yes, she won, but she really didn't accomplish anything in track that was truly memorable. Her golf career was very good, but not really the stuff anyone talks about today.
