Fair enough. We just lost to Kansas bad, so we are kidding ourselves to not understand how far this program has been driven into the toilet.

The recovery from the incompetence of the last three years will not be quick.

Depends on the replacement. Charlie Ball is different than other kinds of ball.

Unfortunately it is not as easy as it seems. The 10.7 million owed Charlie is only a small part. If you recall we had to give Gilbert and Mattox 3 years to get them to Austin. To buy those 2 contracts is another 3.8 which means you have 14.5 in departed coaches and probably close to 10 in incoming based on Herman settling for 5.5. Nearly 25 million in 2017 for the football coaching staff would give me pause as well. Do not fall over in shock if we beat TCU handily that the decision is then put off until after the bowl game and if he wins that I won't be shocked if he is back.

Take it out of Fenves and Perrins salary...

I would be willing to bet Colorado would beat Texas right now. They are playing pretty good.

Please don't take this as a statement that CS deserves another year. I am and have been fully onboard with him being gone since about the end of the 5th game, but, ...

MacIntyre needed 4 years at CU to turn it around. He wouldn't get that at Texas.

I wasn't thinking this as justification for a 4th year for CS. He's pretty much failed at the the process of rebuilding so I wouldn't expect a whole lot of improvement next year. I'd like us to take a look at MacIntyre should Herman fall through if we do a thorough search. He's now shown coaching chops beyond a DC/OC at both a mid-major and a P5 school (something neither CS nor Herman have shown), as well as shown he can defend against the spread, etc...he's a solid coach, albeit not a sexy name. He may need to show it more than one year though to prove he's actually rebuilt and not just created a single year anomaly at CU. I'm honestly surprised he hasn't gotten more press.
