Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend... (Now is no time to flinch)

Usually I'd agree that a tie goes to the younger player. But as you explained on the modcast, @Ketchum , one could argue that Sark's entire tenure turns on getting the QB right *this year*. Under those circumstances, I might go with experience over upside in attempt to win as many games as possible right now.
By experience, you mean the other guy that has never started a game?

Snead and McCoy (according to interwebs) were nip and tuck entering the season. Exhibit A on you don't know what you have until a live game.
That is not true.

McCoy had clearly won the job by the start of camp in 2006.

@Ketchum

One more guy, that’s also very popular on this board, deserves a shoutout from Team USA men’s basketball:

Gregg Popovich.

If any individual was set take even more criticism than KD, it was undoubtedly Pop. There’s been more than a few national articles (I’m looking at you Dan Wolken) stating that Pop needed to go.

It certainly didn’t start of well, but considering the unique circumstances and disadvantage of not being able to practice together much this past year as a team, they certainly became a true team by the end. The biggest winners were Pop and KD. They had the most to lose had they fell short.

KD unquestionably carried this team offensively. He was the Michael Jordan of this particular Team USA team, but the team also started to really play fantastic defense the last few games, with their efforts against good Australia and France teams being particularly impressive. Pop made key lineup adjustments and settled on a rotation that worked. They maintained their poise and got better each game following the opening loss to France.

Hell, Zach Levine and Devin Booker were out there competing and playing good defense. That’s buy in. That’s coaching. Everyone was on the same page by the end. They won with KD’s offensive brilliance and excellent team basketball defensively.

If anyone knows anything about Pop, you know how much this Gold medal meant to him. It’s one of his greatest moments as a coach. He basically said as much following the France game.

I also think it’s one of KD’s finest hours as a basketball player. There was no Steph, LeBron or Kobe flanking him. He was THE man and the catalyst for this group.

Shoutout to Jrue Holiday as well. He’s an incredible defensive player.
good post!

No Heather Locklear? Pick your show - Dynasty or TJ Hooker for the 80s.

She was No.11

I may be wrong in saying this, but going back to the Mack Brown days we have had far too many busts in the OL. Is it poor evaluation or poor development or both?
DEvelopment, injuries, hunger to be great, .

I’d be curious to hear who will be starting in front of him for those 7 games
It's not his talent I have reservations about. It's his youth and the fact that he's still coming all the way back from his injury.

I figured your reservation was injury related but I would think he would maybe be held back 2-3 games Vs 6 or more

If you're gonna go child star, how is Alyssa Milano (80s' version) below Punky Brewster?
Heather Locklear...(TJ Hooker & Dynasty). I had posters.
And more Dynasty, I was team Linda Evans over team Joan Collins.

I just liked Punky more.

Locklear and Milano both were in the top 14.
