Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (One last goodbye to Bru McCoy...)

If the Warriors go down 0-2 in the Finals....

Odd hypothetical...Steph et al would never allow such a thing

The difference between us, besides a penis..... is the fact that you think things like that are more of a statement on me than you.

By treating you like the petty, soccer obsessed, fat that you are, I basically received the same amount of support your OP on Longhorns sports & soccer got. ;)

No which do you think is more reflective of how the community feels?

Way to keep fortifying that base of support Ketch.

The difference between you and I... is that I spend your money and not the other way around.

Now, I would suggest leaving this thread before you are removed from it.

And by that I mean... not another single post.

More like the Raptors wouldn't allow such a thing.
A common theme with OBers lately. It’s always luck when they win and anybody they beat did it to themselves. Putting away Houston on the road, sweeping the WCF, taking back home court against Kawhi...all luck. But if Durant is in there, all the good things are bc of him.

Lol

How dare anyone find the song from a political musical regarding an 1800's duel between politicians as confusing in relation to how it similarly represents the battle for the UT slot WR position.

Thanks for the advice though Dad. I was on pins and needles regarding your thoughts on the matter.

Thankfully, now that you have spoken, I can proceed with my life accordingly.

At least you keep being you Son. Lazy youth is alive and well. Oh the difficulties of pushing play. You’d have probably done it if you were promised a participation ribbon.

lol. I can not believe the amount of crup that ketch is getting for posting about soccer and bru. I mean I am no fan of soccer but c'mon let the guy (and the other soccer people) have one week in the absolute dead period for texas sports to celebrate.. Bru was a major piece of news this week.. makes sense it was on the mind.. having said that.. Ketch.. how DARE your thoughts be on ANYTHING but Texas football! but not only that. How dare you have any thoughts about Texas football that aren't positive!
also soccer is boring

What’s interesting, to me, is that I asked Ketch about his recent fandom with soccer as it compares to those since his youth and he politely responded with his rationale. I guess the poor guy has to copy and paste that every time he posts about soccer.

All of that said, I have zero interest in the sport, outside of the World Cup, and find it amazingly easy to scan right past it.

Another example of how lazy utvince10 is in wanting everyone to cater to his desires, rather than to effort away from it.

I root for the Warriors. When have I ever begrudged them?

Here's the thing from my perspective.

1. Whether you like soccer or not, the CL Final was the biggest sporting event of the weekend.

2. The Bru McCoy story was the biggest Texas football event of the weekend.

3. I have a massive interest as a human being/fan in Liverpool, which a lot of people know.

It might not have been an award-winning column, but I tried to blend those three things together in an interesting way. If nothing else, I thought people might give me a pass because it clearly meant so much to me. Clearly, I was having fun with it.

As for the question about the choice of song, I could have easily have said he should channel his inner-"Lose Yourself" by Eminem and everyone would have understood the reference... I think... but this felt like a more current song and it was the first time to reference it since sing the play earlier in the month.

I just have to remember that some people are always going to want to nitpick me in an effort to give me shit or provoke me into some sort of reaction.

I would call that dishonest pussy some names but he's not high enough on the totem poll to even be worthy of my contempt.

Question::: WHY in the world are we still writing and talking about McCoy? Its over.… Stop it.

We have many players on the TEXAS team that deserve some ink.

Lets focus on beating LSU.

Lets focus on developing this defense.

Lets focus on the OL and how good they can be this year...

OK, I got that out of my system.

Hook'Em
I totally agree. Evans or McCoy will both regret their decision. Putting someone who has never played a down of D1 football on a pedestal is ridiculous. I believe in Herman and his staff and the current guys who make up this team.

You are a petty, disrespectful child.

a champion.

Exactly what UT aspires to be.

Your wrong !!! UT has been and still is a champion with the skins , trophies, AA, Heisman Winners, Academic AA, leaders in life, government, medcine, law , engineering , military service, and the development of everyday human beings who support the ideology re: " What Starts Here (Austin) Changes the World" !!!

Like Liverpool (the most successful English team in the history of European soccer), the last decade has mostly been filled with a lot of apathetic play.

Liverpool is currently what Texas aspires to be.

I have very little or virtually no point of reference re: English Soccer !!! I am most distracted by Women's health issues these days so conversely the brunt of my mental recreational time is spent enjoying UT Sports, Academics***, NFL, PGA & World Series ... From 1971 until 2015 I spent most every Saturday home game in Row 16 , Seats 15 - 17 Section 106 at DKR ... Cannot do that anymore either !!!

Besides Grandgirls playing the soccer sport the last time I saw a contest a kid named Rote played for Dallas & Lamar Hunt ... Keep up with the American Teams on the international scene via AAS, FWST, DMN ... Do not understand the technical aspects of the game but understand scoring and winning...

I am still blessed to have the time and the health to be part of Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, Sunday Communion for the affirmed, and certain UWay agencies ...

What say you ???

No. 9 - The List: Top 10 Favorite managers/coaches ...

I've already been on the record for at least two years that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is my favorite coach in the near 40 years that I've been a fan of professional sports.

Curious to see what my top 10 list would look like, here's what I put together.

10. Jose Mourinho
9. Gregg Popovich
8. Larry Brown
7. Larry Bowa
6. Billy Cunningham
5. Bill Parcells
4. Charlie Manuel
3. Tom Landry
2. Jimmy Johnson
1. Jurgen Klopp

@Ketchum

We had a disagreement about your top 10 on fashion a couple months ago. My least favorite top 10 you have ever had. I must give you credit where it is due though, top 10 professional sports coaches is probably my favorite of all time. Solid write-up in early June. Question: is your list purely your favorites? Or a healthy mix of favorite/best? For example, I am not a Spurs fan, but Pop has got to be on any list of best coaches. Not necessarily my favorite though because I am a Mavericks fan (as I live in Fort Worth). Parcells, Landry, Johnson... all solid on my list as well. I wonder if there was a way to get more subscriber feedback and create a collective top 25 or something? Being a DFW guy, I'd have Ron Washington, Rick Carlisle, Don Nelson, Bobby Valentine, Ken Hitchcock, Dave Tippett, and Mack Brown (a college coach is professional, the kids arent) on there somewhere. Probably Barry Switzer too (ducking my head already).. The Pirate if college coaches are professional. They get paid right?
