Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (Remembering Cedric Benson...)

a. Thank you.

b. I couldn't give a flip about the rest of sports at any point yesterday.
Thanks Geoff, I love your historical take on players like Cedric that you tracked from the time they were a teen. It's interesting how overlooked Cedric was, after looking at everything, he might be the most underrated player in the last 20 years in college football. 5540 yards is stuff of legends. Once again great job. Thanks for all you do.

I sat next to Benson at the ZACH gala two years ago. He admired my T Ring and told me he wished he had one but was a few hours short of a degree. He told me he had played football and asked me about my sport. I had no idea who he was and encouraged him to finish his degree. We introduced ourselves, and I said “Holy Cow! I guess you did play football.” Nice guy. Dunno if he ever went back to school.

Great piece of writing and remembrances of El Ced. One of the traits that Benson had that I admire in a RB is always squeezing the last yard out of every carry/always falling forward.

RIP

One of the most admirable things you can say about a guy is how highly his friends think of him and Cedric truly had many friends that love him

Hasn't that truth been revealed in the last 48 hours.
