Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Sark Might Just Be Mack 2.0)

He needs to be pushed, even if he doesn't know it.

He’s going to get pushed. But I think the hard truth is just like in spring 2011 when Gilbert “kept” the starting job, the staff is not going to make a dramatic change going into the summer barring a CLEAR disaster of a spring by Ewers.

The wild card is the fact that Manning is expected to start in 2024. That could impact things in a variety of ways.

Sark might need his version of the same thing.

Everyone other than Saban does.
For sure, Sark will need his own version of Superman and Tomey/Chizik/Muschamp to win the whole thing, but I will gladly settle for Mack's string of 10 win seasons.

If there’s a disaster in Tuscaloosa next fall, a change could be made soon after…

It appears our guys are landing a decent to good P5 spots quicker. Aside from the 22 guys that were kicked off, I’m seeing a lot of aggys at G5 and Ga Tech.

Not sure that’s terribly accurate

I want to buy that Ewers is going to work his ass off on technique, film study, playbook, and just run away with the damn thing.

We just don’t know if it will happen. With VY you knew he was going to do what it took to be great almost from the day he stepped on campus.

I’ll be pulling for QE and I want to believe. I really don’t want to watch another first year quarterback in 2023.

Sark is almost a decade in as a HC. I think he kind of is what he is.
And you accounted for a rising rebuild in Washington and then an alcoholic deraiat USC, now overcome, when tattling off those numbers?

Nice Buckley list. But, there are a couple of songs on his Live at Sine recording that belong on there (Night Flight and Dink’s Song).

What is it that you specifically trying to convey?

B/S. If Quinn Ewers doesn’t improve from the way he played the last half of the season, he will lose the starting role?

(Buy) I think everyone realizes that serious improvement will need to be made and there's a lot of optimism from those close to him that it will happen.

I don't like it, but barring injury, I think Sark will stick with Ewers this year(2023) even if his play is not improved. The replacement option has never played a down of college football. Dropping in Maalik or Arch could mess up the future plan in a big way. Just doesn't make sense. He's gonna ride Ewers, and hope he will improve. Sark has painted himself into a bit of a corner on this one. Here's hoping Ewers improves a lot.

He is two years in as a head coach sober ketch…….do you think there might be difference between being sober and not when it comes to being the head of a major football program??

No. 6 - The departing scorecard ...

With the news breaking on Monday that Hudson Card is headed to Purdue to play for new head coach Ryan Walters, here's a look at where the departing Longhorns who have hit the portal in the last month have landed:
Love this update... I hope you make this weekly until most have landed somewhere.
