Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (TCU is a bit of a free hit for UT)

Is Bijan a better receiver than Metcalf?
Yes, by every important metric.

From the story: While Robinson won't finish his career with more receptions than Eric Metcalf, he has already surpassed him in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and yards per reception (13.4 vs. 11.1), despite playing one less season.

“A&M still has those two convinced that its NIL pathways are more profitable and easier to cash in with. We'll see if that changes. Their ears are open.”

@Ketchum can you dumb this down for me a bit. What does A&M provide that Texas doesn’t.

Immediate payments. More upfront.

Geoff, have you ever heard of a genius named Stevland Morris? aka Stevie Wonder?
Most people on this board including Ketch are too young to remember how big he was in the early to mid 70’s. Won album of the year 3 times in 4 years if I remember correctly. Still hope he yours again so I can scratch another thing off my bucket list.

Could Bijan be a starting WR in the NFL?

Don’t kid yourself on Drake Maye Ketch. Started at my kid’s high school (Meyers Park, Charlotte) as a sophomore and I’ve personally seen him play 25 plus games. Real deal. I think McShay has him as the projected 2024 top pick of the NFL draft. As I recall, Sark recruited him to Bama and he probably knows a bunch more about QB’s then either one of us.

All received various amounts of consideration. I'm not quite sure they belong in a top 10, though.

With all due respect.

I dunno man. Passer rating numbers seem like using RBIs and batting average in baseball these days. There’s a reason those have been pushed to the background in favor of context-heavy measures

Quinn is tied for 17th in the country in QBR. His QBR number has been pretty stable except for the OSU game.

Stetson Bennett is 30th in passer rating and 8th in QBR.

Bryce Young is 35th in passer rating and 11th in QBR.

McCartney gets the edge in song-writing.

Both played a bazillion instruments, but Paul ain't within a 10-foot pole of Prince on the guitar.

Prince was a more dynamic performer.

Lol. And Prince ain’t within a 50-foot pile of Sir Paul as vocalist.

I have spent time with a current Astro who has been around for a while. He's one of my best friends' neighbor, we've spent a few evenings BSing in the yard.

Anyway, don't talk about the cheating much but his comment was "everyone cheats".

I dunno, it is what it is. Congrats to them for winning this one without controversy I suppose.

MLS...great game. what a show.

Dave Grohl and Trent Reznor above the likes of Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. Good lord man.

Reznor is one of the greatest composers of music in modern era of music.

Grohl plays seven instruments, including the drums and the guitar at extermely high levels. He's played different instruments in multiple all-time great bands. He's a master of about 10 different genres. He's a top flight song writer. His legacy is crazy diverse.

Dylan is a great song writer and an icon of the times, but he wasn't the diverse, dynamic weapon of music as those two.

Same for Cash.

I just need to add some precision to this statement.

JC didn't just have a 3 game streak of 100+ yards in 2007.

JC had a 3 game streak of 174+ yards in 2007. In that 3 game stretch he ran for 7 TDs.

He won 2 of those 3 games basically by himself in that stretch.
Doesn't really change anything.

If you are putting together a list of the top musical talents of the last 100 years, you must include Sinatra and Elvis.

No women! Lady Gaga probably belongs, but you could go with Diana Ross or Karen Carpenter. I am sure I am not thinking of other female musicians.
Gaga is a good call.

Sinatra played no instruments other than the ukulele.

Elvis wasn't great playing an instrument and couldn't really compose music. He also didn't write all of his music to say the least.

As a performer, he certainly received consideration. I just didn't think he was the full package like some of the others.

Very few people will play Prince music in 30 years The radio does not play him much now. He wrote fun songs, which ones are timeless? But McCartney? People will listen to him in 200 years.

And no Elton John? His best 20 songs surpass everyone on this list but Sir Paul.

Vocalist?! I’m with you on your Tiger takes but McCartney is one of the more overrated musicians of the past 60 years. How about that hot take?

What makes you feel TCU is better than Tennessee (besides the fact TCU hasnt lost)?

Kelly had Pedro Cerrano level balls to call that and win.

Saban and Bill Bellichek feel like theyll do this forever, which means you may be right

Georgia by 30

USC/UCLA will be a good one. I think USC wins by 7

Clemson in the ACC title game is when, and Mack just might win that game

Leipold is going to be making a ton of money along with his injured QB next year, at a bigger P5 school

* I could go wither way. I'm not feeling strongly about it to debate it. If someone thinks Tennessee should be ranked ahead, the case can certainly be made.

* Kelly knew that he was going to have to start going for two after 2 OT, so he might as well do it when it's winner take all. But, yes. MASSIVE.

* I love the UCLA quarterback, but I'd father USC.

* The ACC is trash.

* Agree on Leipold . He's what Nebraska needs

Not sure I agree with the focus of the column being on Baylor and T+1. Top 5 team, night game, Gameday, Gary Patterson versus his old team, Bijan’s Heisman run, the chance to prove on a national stage that things are changing, plus the level of momentum we would build in state.
That really wasn't the focus as much as outlining the final three weeks of the season from 30,000 feet.

Grohl was merely a drummer for Nirvana. Had very little to do with any song writing or composition. That was almost all Corbain and Novoselic.
