Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (You know I want to say it...)

Have you gotten to the new season of Last Chance U yet? I enjoyed it more than the previous seasons.

You got Gump right. I love SPR, but other guys could’ve played that part.

I’ve been a Shaka detractor, and not without reason. But I love the way his players evidently feel about him. I’m pulling for him to make a statement this month. A second round loss wouldn’t surprise me, nor would a Final Four.

Good column ketch. I’m not a fan of including toy story or any movie that is just voice animation. It’s not acting imo

The issue is that for me and many more like me, the bridge has been burned. I camped out at the Erwin center for almost every conference game as a student, and I was one of the first handful of students in the OZONE's first ever game during TJ's freshman season. That said, going into this season I hadn't watched a single minute of Texas basketball since November 2018. I read every column and follow what happens, but the product is unwatchable. I finally watched about 20 minutes of a game earlier this season and had to turn it off it was so disappointing and discouraging. I am honest enough to say I will likely watch the upcoming tournament game(s), but I am expecting to see a very poorly coached team that makes bad mental mistakes and tries to win with talent and hero ball. I just don’t think I will ever be able trust a Shaka coached team.
You've missed one hell of a fun season.

I don't know. When I see Murphy, I feel like I am looking at Tyrone Swoops. Big arm, slow, not a natural feel for the position. I don't get the sense that I am looking at an elite QB.
He's played in one varsity game against a team that was wildly more talented than his.

I feel like Big and Apollo 13 are both better than both romcoms at 3 and 4.
a. Big has a very icky plot piece that hasn't aged well in the last 30 years.

b. Apollo 13 is a personal issue because I had a bad date experience during it

I am sure that there is a write up on the Baseball team sweeping the No 12 Gamecocks this weekend.

@Ketchum that Hanks list is unbelievably awful! You’ve got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle above unranked movies like The Green Mile, Philadelphia and Road to Perdition?! Come on man!
I watch the two you hate non-stop and never really have an itch to watch the other three.

No. 9 - The List: Tom Hanks

I'm prepared for the pushback on this set of rankings.

Ultimately, it came down to Saving Private Ryan vs. Forrest Gump. I rated Forrest Gump as the No.1 Tom Hanks movie, even though I think Saving Private Ryan is the better movie.

In my mind, Hanks doesn't make Saving Private Ryan the movie that it is, but he's everything in Forrest Gump. I can't even imagine anyone else in that role.

Oh, #iloveromcoms

10. Toy Story
9. Castaway
8. Apollo 13
7. Splash
6. Big
5. A League of Their Own
4. You've Got Mail
3. Sleepless in Seattle
2. Saving Private Ryan
1. Forrest Gump

how dare you...

Tom Hanks is probably the best actor of our time—not to mention what he’s done for projects like Band of Brothers and The Pacific. It’s a tough list, so I can’t argue it. I love Catch me if You Can, so that would be on my list. Also, Road to Perdition would have to be in my list.

I would have to have Catch Me If You Can on my Tom Hanks list.

He's awesome in that movie and it's very re-watchable like some of the others that made the list.

Road to Perdition is also excellent.
Both are excellent movies. Thought more about Hta Thing You Do than Perdition.
