Every day I mourn the death of democracy in this country. Democracy did not die because of the Capitol insurgence. Democracy is dying because of the erosion of free speech in our society.
Identity politics is ruining this country.
Lowering standards for everyone instead of genuine efforts to raise the standards for those who need help is ruining this country.
I feel very bad the Capitol insurgence happened. Certainly for the lives that were lost. But, more because of the instant demonization of the phrase "Trump supporter". It has instantly empowered the left. A vast majority of those who voted for Trump are peace-loving people. Just like a majority of those that voted for Biden are peace-loving. But, the narratives after Jan 6th has ensured that more than 72M people in the country can be labeled as "evil". Some of my best friends voted for Trump, and I feel really bad when they are labeled that way because they are among the nicest people on the planet.
Unfortunately, the only voice being heard out there are from those from the far left and the far right. Right now, the power is in the hands of the far left, and that makes the far right angry.
There will be no healing until there is genuine and authentic leadership in the country. So far, with the new administration in place, I do not see that to be the case.

I’m still waiting for pretty much every news outlet, Kamala, and Joe to apologize for making Jacob Blake a living martyr for police brutality against black people . . . now that he has admitted he was in fact armed and resisting arrest. The way our culture responded to that whole event shows how dumb we are, how much we let emotion drive our decisions and reactions, instead of facts.

And I've checked out this interview. Jacob Blake has always told investigators that he had a knife. When got tasered he pulled himself off the cop because he fell on him. He then pulled the prongs off him and in a daze he headed towards the car and tried to put the knife and that was the biggest mistake he made. And that's when it happened. The man clearly fd up trying to put the knife in the car but he never denied having a knife. Some of you only want to see the cops side of things and btw the sexual charges were dropped. The point is that there is blame all around. But when you flash a knife or say I have a gun it's over for you. And no da is going to listen to your side of things. Some cops, most cops, know how to handle it the right way but this guy didn't it was still excessive.
