I think the last one was locked because it got political? I take as much blame as anyone for that.GUYS! GUYS! (scene from Dumb & Dumber if you are old enough to remember) This is what got the last QB thread locked.

Strong must be really praying to tge football gods this season. First, Briles hand delivered recruits, second, half the ND fb team is ate up with the dumbass and will have to miss the first gameI was hoping both teams would be at full strength but I guess not.
Um jsto this thread is about ND players being arrested. Why are you letting your obsession with OU play out here? The first weekend of CFB this year has a fantastic slate of games. I would like to see all teams at full strength but obviously that will not be the case for ND.
Hey look everyone! A squirrel! Meanwhile, I'm trying to recall the last time UT began the season Top 5 or even Top 25?BTW OU lost Rodney Anderson for the year, for the second year in a row. Big time rb that was going to see major time this year.
Hope these young men can get their lives in order. Losing depth is never a good thing. Hope you guys don't lose anymore depth before the season starts NDAFarly
Scholtz hit the nail on the head.Scholz you're an adamant Longhorn fan and I can appreciate that.
That's great coming from you.Jeez....how many insults can one dish out before they are committed to an institution as mentally unstable? Come on Scholz....get it together, you're a blue blood program remember?
Somehow the following escaped your selective search criteria:Troll gonna troll
I fully agree Clob and I will be more that willing to discuss if you will start a thread about it. No way I'm doing that and having MM give me the slammer.Bell, you need to focus on the game in Houston. Trust me when I tell you, Houston isn't going to just roll over for you.............
We have our hands full with the #9 ranked team in the country- the bluest of the blue bloods. I do not expect a win. Period. But you guys step on your d!ck against the coogs and your season is basically over (except for conference).
The thing that Tulsa had was a qb that could throw the ball around. I was impressed with his passing ability. I will say this though, that game was something like 24-3 before half and looking like a route over Tulsa was well underway. OU had some bad turnovers and let them back in the game.6'3" 293 Freshman Center - 2 Star Prospect
6'3" 279 Sophomore - Walk On
6'3" 291 RS Fr - Converted Defensive Tackle
6'3" 305 Jr - 2 Star Prospect
6'5" 300 Sr - 0 Star Prospect
That was the Tulsa Oline Mattox and Gilbert started against OU. They promptly put up 603 yards and 38 points (24 in the first half). Think what these guys can do with the talent in Austin.
Pulled the above from the Shag, but...It gives you an idea of what our current OC and OL coach had to work with at Tulsa. They have better prospects to tinker with now. Until we see them coach this unit in a game, it's difficult to say with any certainty how we feel about this line and offense.
That's great coming from you.
Yes, we're a blue blood program. Who rang your bell anyway, lesser?
You assume we don't have a QB that can throw it around. Hell, Swoopes threw it all over OU 2 years ago, he even threw it to them. lolThe thing that Tulsa had was a qb that could throw the ball around. I was impressed with his passing ability. I will say this though, that game was something like 24-3 before half and looking like a route over Tulsa was well underway. OU had some bad turnovers and let them back in the game.
I was being sarcastic about half the team being out. Obviously they aren't but they appear to have some folks out too. Again, Texas is in a position that if they lose, the "injuries" and "young" excuses won't be enough to appease the masses again. That's what I'm getting at and you're being obtuse.I'm not buying the BS you're selling Dozer:
HORN: Listening to the radio this morning, they brought on a guy that covers ND. A few things to note:
These arrests are a big deal. The reason is they basically turned over their entire defense. Fall camp ended on Friday. The senior who was kicked off was one of two returning starters. His back up is a true freshman. In other words, a guy who was supposed to be a leader of a bunch of new starters, is now being replaced by a true freshman. And there is no more time to practice.
Second, he kept referring to the fact that Texas would be starting a freshman. When it was pointed out that Swoopes may start, he actually laughed, and said "oh yea, we saw that last year, a three and out fest". You could tell that he didn't believe it was even a possibility. And yet, is there anyone who follows this team who doesn't think Strong might start him? Sigh.
Dozer: This is what I was referring to in the other thread. ND will not be full strength. I think Texas has a good shot to win this game now if they don't shoot themselves in the foot. No room for mistakes.
You're full of shite.
I have been one of the few on record saying that Swoopes has some talent and Gilbert may be able to put a system in place to bring that out in him. Having said that, that Tulsa qb was really impressive as a passer and made some very precise throws. You assume we don't have a QB that can throw it around. Hell, Swoopes threw it all over OU 2 years ago, he even threw it to them. lol
No, I'm really not. Again, 70% of the roster are Sophomores or younger! It's a fact, they're young as hell. Everybody out there that knows anything about CFB, knows this team is a year away from really making an impact... talk about obtuse.I was being sarcastic about half the team being out. Obviously they aren't but they appear to have some folks out too. Again, Texas is in a position that if they lose, the "injuries" and "young" excuses won't be enough to appease the masses again. Our accurate guy is by far SB.I have been one of the few on record saying that Swoopes has some talent and Gilbert may be able to put a system in place to bring that out in him. Having said that, that Tulsa qb was really impressive as a passer and made some very precise throws.
Well yes maybe so, I'm just going off the assumption that Swoopes is starting?? Maybe he's not?Our accurate guy is by far SB.
Here's a thought. Go talk about the blowu/coog game on a blowu site.I fully agree Clob and I will be more that willing to discuss if you will start a thread about it. No way I'm doing that and having MM give me the slammer.
Yep, tired of you braindead right wing morons.Just offering commentary. You seem more angry than normal. Your poor Aggie wife....
You know what they say about ASSumptions...Well yes maybe so, I'm just going off the assumption that Swoopes is starting?? Maybe he's not?
Exactly that's why I don't discuss it here unless brought up. I'd much rather talk Texas/ND anyway. Here's a thought. Go talk about the blowu/coog game on a blowu site.
Well Clob gave a pretty decent assessment the other day and he is probably in the know so I'll defer to him here. Anything is possible. You know what they say about ASSumptions...
Exactly. Hit dog gonna holler. He got caught in his complete BS and now he's slinking away from it.Dozer: This is what I was referring to in the other thread. ND will not be full strength. I think Texas has a good shot to win this game now if they don't shoot themselves in the foot. No room for mistakes.
You're full of shite. Own it.
Obsession noted.Exactly that's why I don't discuss it here unless brought up. I'd much rather talk Texas/ND anyway.
Um ND will NOT be a full strength. What's your point?Exactly. Hit dog gonna holler. He got caught in his complete BS and now he's slinking away from it.
My point, illiterate, for the 5th time is you're hypocritically playing up their losses and dismissing ours. Maybe read it slowly this time.Um ND will NOT be a full strength. What's your point?
Scholz if I'm downplaying it, it's because this is a make it or break it year for Strong. He's had the time to recruit and develop his players. He is praised for being a developer of talent by some of his strongest supporters. Injuries suck no doubt but as of now do you even know if these players are out for ND?My point, illiterate, for the 5th time is you're hypocritically playing up their losses and dismissing ours. Maybe read it slowly this time.
And we've lost 3 O line starters and they've lost 1 DB starter.

I totally agreeI am not a ra-ra guy. Anyone who has seen my litany of posts about Swoopes starting can attest to that. With that said, I'm not nearly as pessimistic about this line as others seem to be. I understand that "games are won in the trenches". I also understand that there is rarely a team that is better on every spot at the line than the guy lined up across. I've also seen TTU line up three linemen with huge splits in the shotgun, and move the ball with ease. Its all about scheme, planning, and taking advantage of mismatches in your favor. That, and executing.
If you were only half as smart as you think you are.Yep, tired of you braindead right wing morons.
Fixed.Scholz if I'm downplaying it, it's because I hate UT and am highly unintelligent.
The problem with you dumb people is that you're not smart enough to realize you're dumb. It's a catch 22. Read. Learn. If you were only half as smart as you think you are.
My hope lies in Gilberts hands as an OC....and, I agree, except rarely do under sized or inexperienced lines produce all that well. I hated the Watson hire and truly believe his West Coast BS was the biggest issue. He wanted the players to play his style of ball instead of coaching to their abilities and strengths.I am not a ra-ra guy. But, Kelly is in his 6th season and has had time to recruit a roster full of talent, get real dude. You spew BS about Strong and then pull this crap!Um ND will NOT be a full strength. What's your point?
It is make or break for Strong regardless of how much you don't want to admit it. That's what's odd to me. I can promise you if Stoops goes on a 6-6 rampage for a couple of years I'll be leading the pack on wanting him gone. Actually it would take less than that. For some of you though, even through the 3 OC fiasco's, the 107th ranked defense deal, 5 mil per year etc. some of y'all act like you can't criticize anything about him. Perplexing really and really kind of being unrealistic don't you think?Fixed.
Do you think our line, if at full strength, is undersized? My hope lies in Gilberts hands as an OC....and, I agree, except rarely do under sized or inexperienced lines produce all that well.
