Spring 2023 Thread

Crowded receiving room, he wants to get on the field. Sadly it looks like he might be one of those guys who falls through the cracks. If the spring doesn't go well for him I bet he transfers.
i doubt he made this move alone. I think maybe Sark did this and its his way on giving up on K.Robinson? No way he goes to RB without some incentive? maybe im wrong idk.

Running back room isn't deep but it isn't healthy. 5 scholarship backs, Brooks and Blue are coming off injuries that could limit them this spring, and there are plenty of slot guys. Red is 5-10 210, runs good routes, blocks decently and has some good RB skills based on his HS film.

ganna be a 49ers debo role

His incentive is to play. I agree that it would be a special package type guy who is neither a full time receiver or full time RB. He will move around. The issue is unless you are an elite athlete those guys usually don't have major roles. Will he be satisfied with that?

I honestly think he's more of a natural fit there at RB. And with the crowded WR room it makes the most sense for him to move there. Sark likes to run a lot of 2 back packages so there's plenty of opportunities to play multiple backs.

Well, a lot of you got your wish today. Quinn cut his mullet off and shaved. Let’s see if that’s the trick to taking the next step lol

Deal got made! Last run in the big 12

Psychology matters my man. We can try and pretend it doesn't, but it does.
Maybe it's his way of saying it's time to get to business and step up and be a leader. Who knows. I for one don't think the length of your hair or tattoos has anything to with on field performance. I just think that's an outdated way of thinking. Some of the hardest working dudes I have ever hired were long haired with tattoos from head to toe. I learned a long time ago to not judge people off of appearance.

I had long hair all the way up until I was 22. Even rocked a mullet in high school during my senior year just for fun.

You’re missing the point. I agree with everything you’re saying, hair and tattoos has nothing to do with on field performance. I’ve had the same experience as you and I bet most of have about hard working dudes. What we’re saying is this. Generally speaking, anyone who is struggling doesn’t grow out a beard and long hair to look unkept and then goes on to become a world beater at anything. Just like fat people come across as lazy when they may in fact not be. It’s just human nature my dude. However, generally speaking, the opposite is more times than not true. Fit people look more disciplined even tho they may have never exercised in their life, clean shaven and hair groomed give the appearance they give a fvck. My guess is QE thought the same.

Our brain works the way it works. There is no "that way of thinking" about it. If you have tats all over your face, you're going to find it very hard for people to take you serious, no matter how good you are or how hard you work.

As I stated, you can try and disagree with psychology if you want, but you'll be wrong more times than not.

Just because you, hookem722, don't judge people by their appearance doesn't mean others follow your POV. And I'm here to tell ya, unfortunately you are in the minority.

Let’s be honest if he had a better season no one would be talking about his hair or beard. Just stop. He may beed to work getting healthy and work on his skills but his hair or lack of will have no barring on the 2023 season.

Nope, he could have won the Heisman, he still looks like a Duck Dynasty reject.

Glad to see he cut his hair and trimmed his beard. Outward sign he's more focused on team than "look at me".

What I think/hope.

You are right, hair tats etc do not effect on field performance.

I agree with that aspect of it. I'm just giving my personal perspective, that's it.

And as @JasperNewton7 said, we probably all agree with what you said. However, that just isn't the reality.

Also, I would say that when you look clean cut and professional it has an affect on your psyche. It just does.

I'll use the great philosopher Crash Davis to further my point...

“Your shower shoes have fungus on them. You’ll never make it to the bigs with fungus on your shower shoes. Think classy, you’ll be classy. If you win 20 in the show, you can let the fungus grow back and the press will think you’re colorful. Until you win 20 in the show, however, it means you are a slob.”

It didn't mind the long hair it was the mullet that bothered me.

I mean it's so Billy Ray Curtis or Boz when he was an a******.

Rumor coming out that Worthy played through a broken hand this past season. IF true, would explain his regression this year. Still doesn't change us forcing the ball to Worthy all season. ESPECIALLY if it is true and it was broken.

Would explain the drops

That would make sense because I don't remember him having that big of a problem with drops his freshman year. Either way he's still a really good talent and i'm glad he decided to stay.

I don't know if it's already been posted but we probably had the toughest schedule in the country. We lost to 3 teams that finished in the top 10. We beat the Big XII champion. We beat 5 teams that went to bowl games.

If anyone played a tougher schedule I'd like to see proof.

According to this website we had the 8th toughest schedule in the country.

tOSU does not deserve to be on this list. They played 2 teams that finished in the top 10 and in one game they got their ass kicked. At least we were competitive against those teams m

GA played OR, TN, and LSU that's it. They totally dominate the SEC west now. Nevertheless they were the best team in the country.

So the top 5 consists of 4 SEC schools and one blue blood.

I think having Mitchell and Neyor this year is really going to help Xavier. His strength to his game is not really the deep ball. I think we saw that on full display last season. He's better in the short to intermediate game where he can catch the ball and have space to run after the catch. My guess is he'll be playing more out of the slot this season as well. I also think that plays into his strengths.

Worthy outside slot. Netor and AD outside and sanders and Whittington playing middle/inside.

Worthy is interchangeable, he can play inside or outside. Whittington to me is a slot player. He played outside some last year but to me that's not where he should play. He's more effective in the slot.

I think the offense is going to look completely different this season. I expect to see more 10 and 11 personnel and not as much 12 and 22 personnel. You can play the 10 personnel and use JT Sanders as that 4th WR because he has that versatility. I'm really excited to see this offense in action. Spring ball starts next week!
