From the scuttle I am reading, it appears that it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that it will be aggy today for McKinley.

Apparently Mckinley has just informed the Texas coaches that they will not be the pick today.
The Texas coaches won’t stop recruiting him. And I wouldn’t bet against him ultimately signing with Texas come December.
I mean yeah. Texas will find some dudes somewhere. Transfer portal should have a few guys as well.
It would obviously be better to get him than not, but it isn't going to kill our DL. We have 3 commits at interior DL and 5 guys returning.
Texas absolutely needs a high profile DT in the 2025 class now.

I honestly think this is one of the biggest seasons in a LONG time for both programs. Texas is coming to the SEC which is just naturally going to cause a little bump in recruiting with the new shiny toy. A&M has a great class building and with a good season could hang on to that class and build momentum for themselves. Both teams want to go into 24 with momentum. I can't imagine Texas having a bad season with the talent they have compared to what is in the Big 12 right now. Nine wins should be a floor with this team. To me there is a strong chance they could beat Alabama. They have no clue who their QB is and the beginning of the year is a great time to catch them. Yes, they have a lot of talent, but they always take a bit to gel and then get stronger as the year goes. If they beat Bama, then the hype would be pretty substantial.
If Bama dominates them then we get to is Stark staying or going and leaves doubt in recruits minds. If A&M can put together at least 9 wins then that is going to be huge for them. It's going to be a fun year with kids coming and going during the recruiting cycle as always.

Texas just picked up a couple CB's for 4* Zina Umeozulu. He announces tomorrow at 6pm. All signs pointing to the good guys.
During the Red Oak v Lake Belton game on ESPN, they had a clip saying Hudson was about all aggy. Rivals and others say he'd be breathing in West Texas sand filled air in Lubbock, with a slight consideration for Texas. Hope it's the Horns, if not, then the tortilla throwing school.
It sounds like our staff is pressing hard for Wingo because of this. If we lose out on Hudson and still get Wingo that's a win IMO.
How does a kid 80 miles from Austin watch our game Sat night and say to himself "I really think 0-2 Tech offers me the best chance to win." ?
He's not the best dude. He has some character issues. He is one that will probably need to be managed.
I think he is a Tech legacy or has some kind of family connection to them.
Let him go to Tech. AD Mitchell was a portal pickup. Really good receivers are out there for the taking, especially with Sark's offense starting to show out.
I wouldn't sweat Hudson. Sounds like we are in the drivers seat with Wingo anyways. Can also find good receivers in the portal.
