Kinky was iconic and a multi-talented and successful artist in both music and literature. Calling his sense of humor wry and irreverent would be an understatement. He was clever and made me laugh for decades.
I still think his solution to the immigration problem that he proposed while running for Governor of Texas (which he got over 12% of the vote) of paying the General of each of the Mexican states that border the USA a million dollars annually (back when that was a lot of money) to keep illegals out had some real merit and like typical Kinky, it was out of the box thinking.
Graduated from UT (he was 79 when he passed away, so I guess in about '68). He will be missed.
