Let me pronounce boldly - it’s fricken Louisiana Lafayette. …Lafayette. I used to travel by the campus weekly. Have you seen the campus? Have you been to Lafayette? It ain’t Maryland. Lol!! I don’t care how many returning starters they have. I don’t care how high they were ranked at the end of a season thru COVID Armageddon. I don’t care about our freshman QB. If we don’t drum whip them by the end of the 3rd quarter God help us.

IIRC, during the Spring game, Schooler got juked by Bijan and actually went down. Then as Bijan broke to his left and busted a long run, Schooler got up off the ground and chased him down clear across the field. Except for the part where he was juked/shrugged off, it was a pretty impressive display of speed.....
Not surprised by the DL. Pete K's defenses at UW had mean DLs. I saw them play a few times in the last several years and the DLs dominated. Hope that trend continues here in Austin.
They won 11 games in 2019, 10 games in 2020, and have most everyone back. You can make fun of there campus and city all you want, but this is a legit program. Doesn’t mean Texas can’t win, or shouldn’t win, but we aren’t going to blow their doors off either. They are better then the Maryland teams we lost to
One of these teams beat Iowa State like a Mongolian drum last year, and one of these teams didn't.

They beat Iowa State in week 1. The score was 17-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Iowa State was without Kolar as well and he is their best receiver. 2 costly 2nd half turnovers were the deciding factor in this one. It was far from a beatdown like you claim. I dare you to go look at the rest of their schedule for the rest of the year. They had close games with some very weak opponents where they barely pulled off victories. The link is below.

Ulala lost to Coastal Carolina last year I think.......WAY over rated....
Anybody who says different didn't actually watch them play last year.

Hey, we've all been there. I remember when I first joined, I made an uninformed statement one time and felt really bad. Since then I've made a practice of researching and due diligence before posting. And I feel much better about my posts these days.
y'all are right about Coastal Carolina.....they beat Kansas last year......which is something we didnt accomplish.
On the bright side Turtle Tom didn’t get a chance to play down to Kansas.
Let's just kick back Saturday and watch what happens on the field. We will know pretty soon what we have and the potential to be this year. First game is always a little lack luster, but we will know if its "same ol' same ol'" or if this new staff made some headway quickly..................
Their best win was BYU last year. They were good but they beat a bunch of nobodies. We should win this game by 21+.
I watched most of their games last year. Even though their schedule wasn't one of the tops on the nation, they were impressive against who they played each week. Liberty was another one like Coastal. For who they are, they did all they could do and more.
Like I said we should beat them by 21+. I think a lot of people are extremely under rating our defense this year. This should be one of the better defenses we have had in a while. Our front 4 has some NFL early round talent on it I believe. We returned a ton of experience in the secondary as well.
LB play is usually dependent on the front 4. If you have a solid front 4 (which I believe we do) that can eat up blocks and double teams and give your LBs clean gaps to shoot through then that should help with our lack of talent at the LB position. I really like Coach K's defensive philosophies and have confidence in him developing the talent we do have on the roster already.
That aren't good enough or what? Cause from looking at the roster we have LBs like overshown with experience, Marcus Tillman, Devin Richardson transfer, David Gbenda, Ayodele Adeoyo, Luke Brockenmeyer there are also some freshman in there.
