Where's Flipper when you need him?

I was always "fond" of this approach for many of our corrupt leaders -- the blood eagle.

In popular lore, few images are as synonymous with Viking brutality as the “blood eagle,” a practice that allegedly found torturers separating the victim's ribs from their spine, pulling their bones and skin outward to form a set of “wings,” and removing their lungs from their chest cavity.

Kind of sounds like my recent heart surgery

I don’t know man… drowning while you’re being eaten alive would pretty much SUCK!!! Getting split open would suck but at least you could look forward to only dying 1 way.

I would probably have a heart attack when I saw the shark coming at me. I’ve always had a fear of sharks but I really like to Wade fish, weird

Dude you need a little NSFW tag on that one. Sickening. Is this board the next Reddit or 4chan?

My bad.... I did apologize to shark attack survivors though.......

I do find it amusing how in these times we find ourself in, anytime violence or bullying or fights break out at WaffleHouse- people don't jump in and try and help stop the event--- ah hell naw. They grab they're phone and start live streaming.

I too apologize for the graphic account of the "blood eagle" torture and execution by the Vikings. I first heard about this on the History channel. They mentioned that this method of execution was used only for the most vile and hated traitors among them. Given that the Vikings were pretty ruthless anyway, this must have been an excruciating way to depart this world.

I looked it up. It's only spoken of a few times in literature. Can't find any actual accounts of anyone doing this.

yeah....pretty horrible, but as soon as the victim was opened up from the back they suffocated. You would not be able to draw air into your lungs without the vacuum.

I should show my kids this (on second thought, it's probably too much). Every year before we go on vacation to the beach I turn on the movie Jaws and freak them out a little bit. It helps keep them close to shore and not going too deep in the surf. I'm more worried about them getting caught in a rip tide but kids aren't scared of an invisible rip tide. A little fear keeps people safe.

Teach your kids that fear is a construct.

Danger is real.

Riptides can be dangerous. But don't be scared of them.
Sharks can be dangerous. But don't be scared of them.
But herpes-- herpes are dangerous and scary. Be fearful....

Yeah, but kids don't weigh risk vs reward very accurately. The kid who jumped off the booze cruise a couple of weeks ago found out the hard way.

Probably.... just another useless (and likely fictional) factoid to dismiss from the History Channel.

Did you not see the video of when they caught the shark and brought him on the shore? His stomach was full and half the guys body was hanging out of his mouth. It was wild! They drug him to shore and beat him to death.

Oh I bet that smelled amazing.........

Man goes swimming where shark lives. Shark does what sharks do.
People blame shark for doing what sharks do.
