2300 is the only one losing his shit over the possibility of Rodney Terry being the HC full time. I don’t think he’s the favorite but if Texas wins he would rightly deserve strong consideration.

I think some of you need to kind of forget the Jay Wright thing. He’s a great coach and he very well might coach again somewhere. I’m just not sure the timing is there to get him. I doubt he left a job he was very secure in to just jump back in a year later. I could be wrong but that’s my take on Wright.

I think Pearl, Mussleman, Calapari are very real possibilities and would be very good hires, and maybe the most realistic.

I think that was a factor in Wrights decision for sure. I doubt that was the only decision. College basketball recruiting is a slimy business. College football is to but basketball is really bad, so they are all slimy some just hide it better. .

Wasn’t a pretty win but a win is a win in this conference. I believe that’s now 8-1 with Terry. This team is resilient. They get down early and it just doesn’t faze them.

That 3 by TT with 20 seconds left was clearly a missed travel call. Shooter shifted both feet. It is very unfortunate that such calls are not made these days. This is indicative of how basketball is called at all levels. More blatant in the NBA. These same plays get called correctly in international competition.

Just finished watching the game. Hard fought gsme. Good win. It was an important win too because Tuesday we go to Ames which when Iowa state is good is one of the toughest road environment there is. Rodney Terry keeps chugging along much to the dismay of certain members of the board

Lol keep selling the narrative I hated Chris Beard. It’s not true but it makes for a good story. I simply thought he did a bad job last year with the team in aspects. Many of which he(and Rodney Terry after him) corrected this year and the team got better. I’ve compared Beard many times to Rick Barnes, so no I don’t hate Chris Beard and I wasn’t rooting against him, but I also never bought in to the idea that he’s some sort of savor. He’s simply a good basketball coach. That’s it. There are many of those.

This team destroyed gonzaga earlier in the year and led the whole game. Under Terry we have to make large comeback stuggles against teams with inferior talent.

We have 2 starters that are non existent in the box score that were previously contributors.

We play sloppy offense with high turnovers when with Beard we did not. We play hero ball with a lot of missed 3pt shots.

We constantly leave the lane wide open. We have not taken a charge in 5-6 games.

The one good team that we have played this far in the b12, blew us out on our home court.

The consistency is poor. Good teams will shut down Carr and Allen. At that point, we have Rice and that's it. This team is shaping up to have a low ceiling.

I don’t think you can have a “standard” as it relates to how far you go in the NCAA tournament… too many variables out of your control I always say get to the 2nd weekend and let the chips fall where they may

I said he needed to either overhaul his offensive system or bring someone in to do it for him. He brought in Bob Donewald who runs the offense and the team plays a lot faster on that end of the floor.

I also said that Carr plays a lot better when he doesn’t have to be the primary ball handler and run the offense… he fixed that, and Carr looks like the player we thought we were getting last year.

So everyone likes to say “oh you hate Chris Beard” because it makes for a good story and narrative but if I was so wrong why did Beard fix the exact things I was calling out last year? So shut up about me hating chris Beard or wanting him to fail. It’s just simply a lie.

I wouldn’t classify anything Beard has done as amazing. In college basketball a lot of teams turnover a good portion of their roster every year. Just kind of the way the game works.

I think In large part fans will become disappointed.

Texas with a win @kstate 70-57. Texas caught a couple breaks K state short handed with Covid issues and a small crowd due to the bowl game coming up.

Chris beard learning a lesson on the limitations of his defense only ideas.

Not saying I know all. Just pointing out that I’d my criticisms of Beard were so far off base then he wouldn’t have addressed many of them this off-season. For the recored I do have some basketball coaching experience I do know the game pretty well.

I’ve said in many posts. Beard would have done well here. Probably not as well as people had in their mind, but he would have been successful. He pissed away his dream job unfortunately
