We are about to find out what Chris Del Conte is made of.... He lost to the liberal establishment in having to fire Beard. If he loses again and has to retain Terry, it will cement my perception that he is a glad handing money grubber and nothing more. Yes, he's done well with the women's teams but he succeeded by paying more for women's coaching than other schools were willing to pay because women's sports are a drag on revenue. When it comes to paying for revenue producing coaches, he's going to have a much more challenging climb. Look, I like the current team. They are all Beard's guys, including Terry. Beard was successful at every stop so don't roll out the baseless excuse that Terry was at schools where no one could win. He was and didn't. He's mediocre when it comes to scheme and building a roster. If that's what CDC wants, more power to him. It won't end well and he'll be remembered as a spare like the whistle talking Deloss Dodds when it comes to producing quality revenue coaching.

Actually, I haven't been wrong. The team is loaded with older players which is a credit to Beard. The defense has dropped since Beard left. It has recovered a bit but is not what it was and that pretty much sums it up. When most of this team is gone next year, it will be much tougher.

i would've been okay sticking with beard, KNOWING WHAT WE KNOW. i suspect there's more, or that beard outright lied to cdc or someone higher up. we'll never know, and it doesn't matter.

anyway, i applaud terry's efforts thus far. could he pull a steve fischer??? man, i would love that! however, i believe it was ohio state football, but i could be wrong... anyway, some interim guy had come in and done a really good job and everybody was clamoring to make that guy the permanent head man. the AD went out and hired urban meyer (i THINK this was the situation, but it may have been a basketball program somewhere). point is, everybody collectively said "ohhh yeah, that is much better than my idea." and the interim was shuffled along his merry way.

if terry does a great job, SOMEBODY will throw a lot of money at him. he'll be fine. again, i'm rooting for burnt orange laundry unless shaka returns.

I wouldn't be opposed to it if she had recruiting connections on the men's side. Years ago I felt pat summitt would've been a great hire for any men's team. Geno may be too old, but mulkey could probably pull it off

Mulkey is intense and demands hard play…Beard was the same. Their names draw the talent and like it or not you ain’t gonna win without talent. I give kuddos to Terry for filling in but I don’t think his name is gonna draw the best talent. I’m not convinced he has a lot of intensity either. If he gets the job I’ll be pulling for him just like I did SS and CB.

We make a run in the tourney and show that we've got legit potential for NBA draft picks and tourney prowess, I promise you- we'll be fine.
Barnes did one thing well- he sent some pretty damn good players on to the NBA. One of them is a top 10 player of all time. I firmly believe if TJ never gets injured in that pick up game, he goes on to be a top 3 PG of all time.
Let's see how the season plays out.

In all seriousness, why are you watching now? You obviously are rooting against this team so you can be "right". It must suck to watch your team and be mad when we are overall in the middle of having a really good season. Will we make the final four? Who knows, just enjoy watching a good team who has a chance to beat anyone in the nation in any given game. We are not automatically eliminated before the season even started due to suckage like years past. Who knows what will happen next year, but there is no reason to keep bellyaching about the past. Beard beat up his wife, there is no way in hell he was going to keep his job, it's time to move on.
