Re: Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Charlie's first 141 days)
To me Ketch this part of the 10 thoughts was key as well.
"As Strong tried to implement the foundation of his own
program in place, the ability to build trust from the players he was
inheriting was further complicated by the perception among some players
that Strong was looking to run a lot of them off.
"It didn't
help that everyone was reading on Orangebloods that so-and-so was going
to be thrown off the team or forced to transfer," the team source said.
"We all thought that a bunch of people were going to be packing their
bags. It got into some heads and I don't think it really stopped being
an issue for some of the guys until after the spring."
I agree-we had speculation galore about people and true Charlie had to push some guys-at least one of them who had been a problem for a while. But for someone to say or claim they KNOW people will transfer is hogwash. Coaches no matter who they are don't need that kind of BS to complicate things.
Ketch I respect you and your work very much but there were insiders that went over the line on some things.
If it results in a lockdown of info or "sources" that might be not be so bad. Charlie Strong said he does not deal with distractions-that includes people telling him how to run his program unless it is Steve Patterson.Originally posted by joemiller777:
Whereas I always felt like Mack Brown obsessed over what was written about him online, especially on Orangebloods, I haven't sensed that Strong cares at all. Perhaps when you're always busy with real work inside the program, time doesn't exist to sweat the small stuff.
Ketch with the head shot .....Bam!
