Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Arch Manning is...)

I'm not worried about it-I even said I wasn't worried about Arch earlier. But he's very young, and inexperienced, and we don't know how good he is yet.
He may have had expectations placed upon him, but he hasn't yet faced great defenses, with great athletes, or tough SEC road games. Let's talk about him being a generational talent after he wins a NC. I heard that term earlier--way too premature to say that. That's all I'm saying.
This is going to be fun to bump in the future.

🤷‍♂️
But one question you two discussed I found interesting, Which of these various top ranked quarterbacks would you trade Arch for, and MY answer is: Besides Quinn, I wouldn't trade Arch for ANY of those guys. I think his upside, his potential, and what he can do for not only himself but for Texas is that great. Sark absolutely made the right choice--he would be exactly the guy I would choose. He is so refreshing in so many ways--wants to learn, seems humble, not entitled, aside from his physical talents--that is why I think he'll be great. And his parents, grandfather, and uncles are a class act, and so is he.
I think Arch also made the right choice in picking Texas--I think it's perfect for him. A home run choice--all the way around. I have enjoyed him so far, and really look forward to the rest of his career at Texas.

Sell. But, I think they should give it serious consideration.
After Saturday night, I think this year's OL could use some work. Too many unblocked blitzers ultimately result in injuries.

Ketch I always enjoy you 10 thoughts.
Hopefully Ewers is 100% for OU but I have no doubt Arch can lead us to a victory if he has to play.
Good Jimmy Stewart list I would have Rare Breed in my top 10.
A women's basketball question the number 1 recruit in the country Chavez from Lubbock was visiting have you heard anything on her.

what's Rare Bread about?

Heard she loved the visit.

Arch throws more deep balls because he wants to and because he's confident in his ability to do so.
Wow, I can’t believe anyone can’t see that he dimes on 99% of his deep balls. Not sure the defense can give that to anyone! Good call @Ketchum

Glad Ewers is returning but I’ve made no secrecy of my opinion that if for whatever reason we have to go with Arch for whenever and how long I won’t sweat one bit

The Horns don't really have a weakness. The run game could stand to be more explosive, but they make up for that with extreme run efficiency (third in rushing success rate)

Saw this on ESPN power rankings.

The Texas Run game is just missing those explosive plays. For whatever reason we seem do not be able to break away longs runs. I mean even UTSA got a explosive TD run against us. From a fans point of view when you see highlights of different games every Saturday you seem teams have huge TD runs all the time and with our offensive line and running back talent its strange we have not had a huge run and we are 5 games into the season. what gives?

I dunno.

4.7, 4.9 and 5.0 from the scholarship backs is simply not good enough.

Ever seen “The Flight of the Phoenix” with Jimmy Stewart?

Kristofferson’s appearance at Willie’s 90th birthday concert put a lump in my throat.
We were at Willie's 90th also. Kris' two nights were so sweet and so amazing!

I watched on tv, but Lukas Nelson’s singing of “Angel Flying too Close to the Ground,” and Dave Matthew’s “Funny How Time Flies” were instant classics. Both are on my Spotify.

Agree with you. There were so many great performances - and of course only about 1/4, at best, were on tv. It took me months to quit going around singing that Dave Matthews song!
