Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Close, but no 2024 cigar?)

Damn that 85%!!!

Good stuff as always. Love the Mavs but Kyrie is just a bigger than typical NBA crybaby. Still won’t watch.
Are you expecting the Longhorns D to step up even more after the losses to graduation?

I was around for BMW and loved the party on the Drag going to the elite 8, but this years team… man, gotta love em! Hook em!
I don't yet have expectations for the Texas defense. There's a lot that needs to be addressed.

Texas could pay up, but I don’t think OU could pay that much to Fox. The SEC won’t take just us. Has to be both Texas and OU.
Might very well be true, but Texas hates eating money and being wasteful, until it has to be.

@Ketchum
You gotta fill in some blanks on the below. Come on now. 🤔

B/S The last major improvement for Sark to make is game management/in-game adjustments. If he figures that out, Texas becomes a fixture in the top 10.

(Sell) I have it some thought, but there are still other issues that exist. That's just one of them.

Good point!!

But Ketch is right the roadblock to Texas/OU joining the SEC in 2024 is FOX.

All the other parties of interest (Big 12, TX/OU and ESPN) want it done yesterday.

I think FOX is just being difficult just because. It isn’t that much money to FOX. The expanded CFP starts in 2024 and IMHO the Big 12 really doesn’t want to take the risk that TX or OU is their lone representative.
It is enough money that it matters.

I know that Lebron James triggers a lot of you, but it's beyond eye-popping that he's on the verge of taking Kareem's scoring record. It's either going to happen against OKC on Tuesday or against Milwaukee on Thursday. Both games are at Staples. You're damn right, I'll be watching.
🤢🤢🤮 would rather watch paint dry, or talk to China about spy balloons.
Other than that good job except for the strange rap evaluation.

No discussion of Neyor and his injury?. Either his arrival was overrated (likely) or the Athletic Missed it. And so did 10 Thoughts.

Also @Ketchum dont forget to include replacement value when calculating per game advertising losses. You have to calculate the delta between UT and Cincinnati…which my wild ass guess is 50% so we are talking $20+ MM, not $45 Mm

Ketch- Why do think Texas Football has barely acknowledged the release of the 2023 schedule? Can't find it on texassports.com and besides a RT on Twitter there is nothing on their social media accounts. Strange.
The unwillingness to give up hope.

It is strange.

Section one was not a fun read. I am going to have to come back to the rest.
It started off with me wondering what one of these games makes in a one-off. I didn't expect to reach the numbers I did.

not sure i agree with rap list
None of the following on it:
OPP, Gin and Juice, Mama said knock you out
I don't need an agreement. The article literally says...

"Keep in mind that this isn't what I believe the top 10 rap songs would look like if it were about all-time greatness. It's just about the music that I listened to when I was a teenager."

Pretty amazing that’s previous schools could leave the B12 for SEC, B10, and P12, USC/UCLA can leave P12 and G5 schools, who are biggest brands in their conferences, can all bolt with fairly minimal consequences and Texas/OU get the screws put to them. I guess USC/UCLA are leaving a Fox conference for another but seems like a bad choice to announce leaving a conference 4 years prior- you have to think we thought we’d only play 21 thru 23 seasons when this was announced

I think there was definitely a feeling that Fox would play ball more than it has. It doesn't want to play ball. It wants cash or product.

Running a better offense and not being his own worst enemy in that respect is just one thing.

They agreed to pay Brady 375 million over 10 years. Apparently they have money to burn.

a. He didn't make the top 50, which came out after his injury.

b. That's probably a good point, but I think I ball-parked the number conservatively in terms of overall game-value. Those are the minimum numbers per game with the minimum amount of 150-second breaks.

Sark's his own man with offensive planning and calling, correct? Meaning he was not overly influenced by the go go offense input.
