Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (Eddie Reese is UT's GOAT)

Don't get yourself banned this morning.

Hahahaha, I wouldn't list it in my top....well anything. I never ever listened to their music at all. In fact the only member I know of is Q-Tip. Like a fool I listened to people and bought his garbage CD.

I ran to youtube to listen to the scenario....hot garbage. And I love some Busta Rhymes.

- Is Buddy Hield this year's Jimmy Fredette (looks great in college, but it may not translate on the next level)?

Seriously? Dude has Kobe Bryant showing to watch him and is about to sweep every major National Award. Jimmer Fredette? smfh.

Second-most disturbing post of the last few days.

Play myself? Whatever that means but yeah It def wasn't for me. But the best rap collabo ever recorded? Calling BS on that all day every day.

Nuthin But a G Thang, Ni***as in Paris, Jay Z alone prolly has 10 way better than that....didn't even mention 2Pac, Drake, and Lil Wayne. Scenario?

Different strokes for different folks.

Honestly, if you just listened to Scenario for the first time and didn't know who Phife was before he died, I'm not really worried about your opinions on the genre. Everyone is entitled to like what they like.

According to Wikipedia there are 134 universities with division 1 men's swimming programs. I think that is about the same number of programs as in football.

I don't disagree with comments about the complexity of coaching the respective sports. But the number of teams that are potential competitors for the swimming championship is legit.

Austin may be a football town but it is a swimming mecca, and has been for decades. My son could have swam his way into any school but chose Texas over all others...because of Eddie Reese and all the great swimmers coached by him. He turned down Brown, the Air Force Academy, and University of Virginia to name a few. All it took was one phone call from coach Reese. My son said this was his chance to swim with the big boys. With 4 national championship rings, 4 Big 12 championship rings, a world record in the 200 yard relay, and most of all a degree in computer science, he is very proud to be a Longhorn alumni! Thanks coach Reese for giving him the opportunity of a lifetime.

I don't know how Pop gets over this public shaming.
Why do people even talk about this anymore? Pop is going to do his #1 job, which is to get the Spurs ready for the playoffs. It is up to him who to play. Sorry it upsets some folks, but not really.

+1...Shane is tough as nails, watches film when they aren't practicing. He'll be far more ready by fall, as he eats and breathes football 24-7.

If Heard or Swoopes can't get us to 8 or more Ws, give the kid a chance to learn now, even if he takes some lumps.

Boo is not like Swoopes and Heard were as Freshmen. Has better instincts and intangibles, and he can handle pressure without folding...at least he always has. It's not going to break his spirit if he struggles some.

This early spring may prove invaluable for him.

Different kind of cat from the other 2. He's an alpha, only true alpha of the 3.
While I would love that to be the case, what are you basing that on? He was a good HS QB, but certainly doesn't have the HS skins that Heard has. Where is the proof of his "alpha-ness?"

Why do people get worked up if anyone dares suggest that Pop goes overboard with resting his players?

Maybe not.
Since I watched Star Trek V over the weekend, let me try some Sybock on you:
"As a Sixers fan, Ketch, you hide a great pain. Share your Sixers pain with me, and gain strength from the sharing."

FWIW and for the record, I can't stand part V

Nope I had no idea who Phife is/was and def didn't listen to A Tribe Called Quest and never heard Scenario before. If I did, it didn't connect. I knew of them and as I said I got dupped into buying a Q-Tip CD. And you are correct, I didn't like most of the other artists in their genre like leaders of the new school, De la soul, mos def etc...

For me during that time it was LL Cool J, NWA, Too Short, Ice T, the DOC, Doug E Fresh, Hammer, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, 2 live crew, EPMD, Public Enemy, Heavy D, Big Daddy Kane, Ice Cube, 2Pac, Digital Underground etc...

That said, I'm 1000% confident in saying Scenario is not one of the best rap collabo's ever recorded.

But yeah I agree with you, different strokes for different folks for sure.

I will riddle you that. It's cheating the people who payed their money to watch the game.
Pop is not twirling his beard, looking to intentionally deceive or cheat people. He's even acknowledged that very thing you stated, but at the end of the day he believes it helps his team - HIS TEAM - be at the freshest and sharpest. He's been consistent on this for 7-8 seasons.

Lol, that's total BS. He started doing that crap when he got mad at the league for what he thought was unfair scheduling.

I've been a die hard Spurs fan since 1999 or so. He started sitting people years BEFORE that Miami game brought what he was doing to the spotlight. That's a fact.

He is still cheating the fans and have admitted as much. That's the point. If he were just resting his players, why would he send them home before the game? He is thumbing his nose at the league that's why they have been fined.

The Warrior's are now doing the same thing....hmmmmm....

All teams rest players but not anywhere near the level of the spurs. Pop got mad at the NBA and has used that to try to get back at the league.

Not sure any of you can handle my Sixers pain.

Honestly, there are things in public one should never admit and you've admitted a few of them.;)

Because it is like they have been asleep since 1998....
Let's not pretend like this isn't something that he has done more and more of in recent years. He does it to thumb his nose at the league as much as anything.

Again, there was no reason for Aldridge to sit the other night, other than Pop wanted to troll the league.

That's BS. The Warriors played its full team two Saturday's ago, despite it being the sixth game in nine days and the back end of a back to back.

The Warriors respected the game and the match-up.

So, is it your assertion that Timmy, Manu, and Tony are OLDER, or younger than they used to be? Because if they are, maybe doing MORE often would seem to follow the natural progression of his system. As for resting LaMarcus, why NOT rest him on the night when you have 4 other stars resting? No sense risking him doing too much when he is the lone starter out there besides Danny Green. Also, no need to risk losing another game because you decided to rest LA on a different night than you rested your other players. It's part of Pop's strategy, has been for years, and the only trolling is done on folks who wish they had a team good enough to rest multiple starters on a given night. Where was the criticism of Steve Kerr for doing the same thing a few weeks ago? Against the Spurs, no less...

No. Hield is a much better player overall than Fredette not to mention bigger and more athletic.

Steve Kerr didn't rest his players against the Spurs.

If you're going to be critical, at least know what you're talking about. The Warriors rested Bogut, Iguodola, and one other important rotational player. Did they "disrespect" the game?

Dude, those two players were hurt. They didn't sit them out as part of a plan to simply rest tired players.

So before you lecture me about not knowing what I'm talking about, know what you're talking about, first.

Iguadala has been dealing with an ankle injury all month. Meanwhile, Bogut was also injured and missed the game directly after the Sours with a left foot/toe injury.

Kerr has been steadfast in his position that he will not rest his players on the back end of back-to-backs leading up to the end of the season.

Use a Google search. It can be your friend.

Good for Kerr then. Honestly, I'm not sure about the fauxrage over Pop. Particularly since he's been doing this for some time now. We hear discussions all the time late in the NFL season about whether teams should rest certain players in final week or 2 when their playoff positions are pretty much set. And nobody talks about "robbing the fans." Move on.
