Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (From Quinn's perspective...)

@Ketchum Great write up. Love the Arch effect. I am ride or die with Quinn this year. Love him, love his work ethic and love his love of Texas. Arch is pulling for Quinn to come back and lead. That says as much about Quinn as it does about Arch. It’s been years since I felt this good about our program.

Great job Ketch. I remember when posters were questioning the level of competition Arch faced in HS. Never mind that his dad and uncles faced the exact same teams. Good times. Barring injuries, he will be the highest rated QB in the draft in maybe forever. This kid was born to be an NFL QB.
He'll be drafted higher than VY.

Great piece & perspective on Quinn, Ketch! Needed to be said! Much appreciated! Judging by all the OB posters over the last 24 hrs I feel the great majority echo your sentiments {then again, we're a tad more mature & wise than the kids in the stands, aren't we. :}.

Speedy recovery to you Quinn so you can get back on track to making all your football dreams come true. Go kick ass again & don't bother to take names just like you were doing! You're a blueblood Texan, damit! Need I say more.

We don't need to go overboard about his performance from Saturday night, but also make sure that we don't pretend that it was nothing. What we started to see on Saturday is what it will all look like when it all comes together. Of course, there will be some bumps along the way... of course ... but this is what it looks like when a No. 1 overall prospect starts to go boom.

It was a sneak peak into the future. Feel free to enjoy the hell out of it.

Like I’ve said. It’s ok to be ok with Arch. Feels like some are holding back for fear of hurt feelings but it’s ok.

(Sell) I don't have a ton of reservations about Arch, especially against teams that have struggled against lesser teams and quarterbacks.

This. Some People seem terrified of being over the moon about Arch

This is such a fun read when the Horns are freaking #1 in the country. My God it has been awhile. F Crabtree.

I hope Quinn is back for OU. They don’t need him before that and not playing him against Miss St gives him two additional weeks to get healed up. Great game experience for Arch as well in our first SEC game.

I am a fellow Cowboys fan sufferer and I just have no appetite to watch them this year. We went to the beach in Chicago today instead and I definitely felt vindicated when I checked the score.

Just win a natty. The love will come then. ;)

Watching Dallas today was an unemotional affair outside of a few chuckles.

@Ketchum great write up. I am squarely in the QE fan club and hope to see him back ASAP! It also makes me cringe just a little for him when the crowd and the media give Arch such a 'warm welcome'. HOWEVER, isn't it a tad disingenuous to say he bleeds orange, loves the University, etc. as he did chose to go to OSU. I understand all the recruiting dynamics for him as a high school senior (I really do understand, been through the process with 2 sons), BUT if you LOVE UT the way most of us do, you stick with that decision and never consider others. Am I being to harsh?

God speed Quinn...get your ass back here and realize your destiny young man!!!
It is a fair point. I give him a pass because he was 16-17 when he made the decision and we had an asshat for a coach (Herman).

I have a great appreciation for Arch, but I love Quinn more than I love Arch right now.

I will love Arch more when his time comes next year, but until then, Quinn is first.

And after the end of the year, I am going to rate Quinn someplace on my list of former UT QB's.

Right now, that list would start with (tie) Vince Young and James Street, followed by Peter (the Great) Gardere* and then Colt McCoy.

Quinn may be at the top of that list starting next year- with a National Championship.

*For the younger people on the board, Peter Alexander Gardere is the only starting QB from either school to win all four games in the UT/OU series.

... I meant what I said from Saturday night about Colin Simmons ... he might be the best player on the defense. That dude is a difference maker and when he's on the field, the defense feels his presence at all times.
Has Simmons.. has Simmons overtaken.. Has Simmons overtaken Trey Moore...

Note: I call dibs on this show title for Monday
DB - Jalen Catalon (UNLV): Had 4 tackles and an interception in a 23-20 win over Kansas.
What a wild career arc for Catalon, lol
... No one will want to hear/read this, but I thought the Aggies looked pretty good in smashing a pretty horrible Florida squad. Did Weigman just lose his job?
100%
... If Arch Manning was the starting quarterback for Tulane, the Sooners would have lost at home on Saturday.
lol!!
... South Carolina got the Montreal screw job from SEC officials on Saturday.
Few takes better than this one..
