Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (Great stuff, not so great stuff and Elmo shrugs...)

Good job, Ketch. Thanks. And thanks for the Covert testimonial. The Covert family is simply the best. Great dealers and fine people.

How is Bob McKay not on the top 10 offensive lineman list.
Consensus All American on the 1969 National Championship team
Played nine years in the pros.

It's a crowded competition. Could have easily made it.

No doubt. But that's more about the usual realm of obscurity in which OL operate. JMO. But definitely to your point, Blalock was simply an all-timer. IMO, he and Dan Neil are the top 2 OL going back probably at least 40 years.
They are. No question.

27 win average last 4 yrs. has won 21 so far this season, even with all the obstacles the team has faced.
3 sweet sixteens and 1 elite 8 in the previous 4 seasons. If the men’s team had done as well, we would all be ecstatic.
Expectations are very high for next season w Prince in the lineup. I don’t understand what you so-called experts are so upset about.
Mulkey has had the best WBB team in the big 12 this decade, and likely top 3 national rank over those years, for sure, but that doesn’t take away from what Coach Aston has recorded. Get off your high horses and support the team and coach!
Sweet 16's in women's basketball represent low-laying fruit.

@Ketchum I don't watch soccer and I usually skip past your soccer commentary but, the way you worded the description of the video was confusing. Are you saying the Manager should be sitting in the stands or the goalkeeper? That kid is a little POS and should be booted from the team whether the contract has to be paid out or not. Entitled little POS. A football coach or baseball Manager would have drug a player like that off the field.
The manager should never play the player again. That's what I was expressing.

2022 will be Card's third season in the system...

2021 is the year we figure out who the future is for at least 2 years. RsF Card vs RsJ Thompson.

Your a stat guy how many success stories are there with Red Freshman QB’s leading the team?

Gotcha. I figured that was probably what you were saying but, wasn't sure. Is that Goalkeeper usually an entitled sh*t?
He's a new player on the team. Highest transfer in history for a goal-keeper.

The back-up is a penalties specialist.

Long way to go.

That makes it even worse then since he obviously knows the other guy's specialty is penalty kicks. What a little sh*t.

I recall encountering Doug Dawson on the field after a game during his time at UT. Doug had left the field for several plays late in the game for what appeared to be a neck sprain but did return. When I asked how his neck was doing Doug said it was going to be okay. As I turned to leave, he said, "Thank you for asking."

It's Lubbock, for gosh sakes, the place where the football program historically flies its players in for official visits at night so that the visitors aren't too caught off guard by seeing the place in the daytime.

Not only do they bring the football players at night, they keep the basketball players in the gym so they don't find out where they are either....I was sentenced to do three years there in grad school. I tried to say I was sorry to everywhere else, but no one would believe me. When I finally escaped/graduated, I found out two things:

1) you can see New Mexico from the highway overpass.
2) Happiness truly is Lubbock in your rear-view mirror.

Not sure why you keep overlooking RoJo. FWIW, that might not necessarily be a true statement about 2021. What if our QB play is not stellar that season? come Spring of '22 there is very likely a battle in that scenario.

I don’t want to take this thread in another direction.....but.... after many years in the car business, usually when someone thinks they are getting the run around it’s because their stuff is not in order...ie credit! Trade equity! Time on job or income... every deal is important to a dealer... Ketch was going to buy his car there no matter what. I can assure you there were people in that dealership at the time who were getting a far better deal then he was.
I've been in the car business for a few years now and I agree. Here's the deal, the internet has been an industry game changer. Now everyone knows what everyone else is offering. There aren't any secrets now. The dealership is going to make money on your price, your rate, or your trade-in. But they aren't getting rich off new car sales anymore. So offering great service is the best way to set your dealership apart.

Man, I try to keep up with the site but there are just too many inside jokes for me.

Sorry, I should have known it was a purposeful mistake.

No problem. They do tend to come fast and furious.

1.I agree with the now or never need for Okafor to step up this spring. For all the OB love, he wasn't remotely in the hunt to move ahead of Kerstatter as the 6th lineman. He better make a big move or the senior transfers and Kerstatter will bury him.
2. I agree Young better step up in the spring or we'll bring in a senior transfer.
2.Is it possible that Adeloye's name surfaced so much in fall camp because McCullough was playing out of position at B Backer?

Still not really what the term means as a literary term.
well, at least you're not trying to be too literal.

You might be giving Kerstetter a bit too much credit. Given Okafor had already blown through 2 seasons, the staff very well could have viewed a redshirt for Okafor as higher priority in the grand scheme of Hand rebuilding the depth on the OL. Given Kerstetter got blown out of his job after just one very poor half against Maryland, I'm not sure he's in position to "bury" anyone.

Roschon is so far behind in the passing game right now. I love his mental makeup and hope he proves me wrong. I think they’ve already recruited over RJ with the commitment of Card. And yes if someone struggles in 21’ there would be a battle in 22’ but that goes for every season.
