Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (I owe someone an apology...)

I have been a on plane twice with the Nature boy in my life. Once as a 13 year old boy on the way to Washington DC with classmates in 1984 and last summer while flying back to Dallas from Atlanta. Some of the girls in my class got him to yell “ wo” on the flight in 1984! Sat right next to him on trip back from Atl. He may be old now, (so am I, I suppose)but he chatted with me for 20 min or so and was very kind to folks saying hello. Time is undefeated but I could not resist saying, “to be the man, you have to beat the man.” He laughed and shook my hand. That was a good day.

Me and Ketch have had our disagreements but we see eye to eye on the Manning situation.

That said, I can understand why Sark will stick with Ewers barring something unforeseen. I like Ewers a lot, and am in no way pulling against him. Here's hoping he lights it up vs Georgia.

It really is an unbelievably great situation for Texas to be in when you consider where we were even three years ago.

Right now I'm not so sure. Quinn looked like he had taken a year off on those first two drives. He forgot how to throw a ball.
Manning is more talented, he is just naturally gifted. Q has experience and coaches value that, plus Sark talked Q into coming here. He has a stake in getting him to the NFL.

No doubt. Quinn has at times been elite but that first quarter was fuuuugly. He has to be better. He is too talented to not be better. I expect him to do just that this Saturday. Otherwise I might be calling the 4s....

Agree with all of that.

I also think that Quinn (when he's not rusty) is really proficient at the short passing game with all the little dink & dunks and RPOs. Not saying Manning isn't good at those things, but I do think the ball comes out a bit smoother with Quinn, and at whatever arm angle might be necessary to get the ball there.

I think Q does have a bit of an advantage there.

He has a lot of starts like that…frustrating.

@Ketchum Colt was 100% within a 100 foot pole of Vince, just look at the numbers. If Colt didn’t get hurt in the natty there would be no seperation between the two at all.

Well...... the separation would be VY running circles around Colts ass, but otherwise Colt would have a Natty too, which would been cool.

Fans tend to under estimate the importance of experience at the QB position, especially in high pressure situations, imo.

Colt was a winner, but VY had that indefinable something special that only a few have. And he didn’t get hurt because he was huge.
