Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (OBs new whipping boy?)

I’m hoping Arch is given enough rope to audible out of plays that look doomed from the start based on defense alignment…I felt that too many running plays, especially on first down, were just overwhelmed by numbers and had no chance to work. Getting out of those plays would help the offense regardless of the inexperience of the players.

I would buy the 2025 Texas defense and offense is better than 2024. The 2025 defense will be that talented and the 2024 offense was just meh so with Arch 2025 will score more points and be statistically superior.
There's a lot of proven offensive personnel missing.

On the other hand, Campbell was the least-trusted starter on the offensive line this year, at least if we're basing it on the fact that he was the only starter sharing snaps this season, let alone doing so with the lowest-graded player on the entire line as his primary competition.

Honestly, that feels wholeheartedly on the staff trying to be cute

Kendrick Lamar show was easily top 5 of all time . It’s limited appeal to people over 40 might be a sign your getting old . Just like your parents saying turn down that rock and a roll
I have plenty of signs of that, this just isn't likely one of them.

You actually dared to write this today, and you only devoted one line to the banishment of the Wicked Witch of Louisiana that’s plagued us for 40 years? I’m stunned, I’m shocked, it’s a big extension for Vic!
It happened late when I was running out of words in my brain. Fair point.

I’m not sure I’m understanding the hype with Anora. It felt like a b level late night skinemax 90’s special with slightly better acting from the lead role. Is there something profound I just didn’t get?

It's a ****ed up Cinderella story with a NY sex worker and a Russsian oligrch's son. That's the movie.

I expect them to turn him loose.

On top of that, his rebounding and passing numbers are spiking as well, as highlighted by a career-high 9 rebounds against the Wildcats and four of his last fives games featuring at least 4 assists (2.6 average on the season).

Some OBer kept railing on him about being “selfish” which I found humorously ignorant

I know a few people rolled their eyes a few weeks ago when I mentioned that this Texas team has Sweet 16 upside, but as long as it has Johnson playing at All-America levels, it won't be a team that anyone wants to face on the opening weekend. Texas goes into every game with a nuclear offensive weapon and he's starting to really feel himself against the biggest and best teams on the Texas schedule.

It’s quite fair to say this team could either miss the tournament or get to the second weekend. Particularly if they avoid the dreaded 7-10 black hole. I still think they need to find 3 Ws in the last 5. Very likely Saturday in Columbia goes a long way to making or breaking their dance hopes

Might be one of those years where Texas could use a little help with the second round match-up. Maybe there's an Antoine Brockington out there that can take care of the heavy lifting in the second round by doing it in the first.

(Sell) Final Four?

Well, like you alluded to, rational hoops takes on OB tend to be rare. There are literally people, many on here that think we would fire a hoops HC after his first 3 tourney finishes were
Elite 8
Rd 32
Sweet 16.

In other words fire a HC whose first 3 tournament results are unmatched by any previous HC including Penders and Barnes.
