Agreed. My point is don't overpay for QB, don't overpay for RB and don't overpay for WR. Overpaying for any of those three positions sells a lot of tickets, but gets you in trouble, especially QB.
But if you overpay for OL it could cost you a lot less and you'd still have money left over to keep good young defensive players.
I know that's easier said than done. But are there going to be a ton of teams willing to overpay for Dak Prescott if the Cowboys don't offer him a huge contract?
I don't love Garrett but I don't think he is the reason the Cowboys haven't won. The NFL is about building rosters, managing salaries and avoiding injuries. Not about knowing what play to call on 3rd and 7.
