I can't keep debating your assessment that Bryce Young waiting by one quarterback until year two to start is the same as another quarterback waiting for two quarterbacks and at least his third year to start.

Thoughts on how the other 17 played? I mean at first glance I don’t think playing year one or year 2 is somehow a real sign that greatness is inevitable. At the end of the day, I think this Murphy/Manning deal is really 10 months away at earliest. Murphy likely is the backup this season. I would be stunned if 7 months from now Ewers is projected to be on our roster in ‘24. I’m just not ready to declare it’s an indictment of Arch if he somehow can’t beat out Murphy in ‘24.

It's never happened. Mallett is probably the closest example of those 17 players for it not going smoothly, given that he ioinly made a few starts before moving closer to home. He's definitely the full time start at Arkansas in year two if eligible.
I’m not competing for a point. I’ve been steadfast in my faith on how the Manning family is approaching this. And that’s driving my belief that somehow they will tuck tail and run 12 months from now if Arch hasn’t won the job. And until I see Murphy in live action I’m not going to condemn Arch as “overranked” if he can’t beat him out for ‘24.
And how many of those 17 were on a roster as a true frosh that had two older prospects the level of Ewers and Murphy? For a guy who preaches “context matters” you’re sorta turning a blind eye for the sake of this discussion.
I always laugh when Slater Martin is mentioned. He is my grandmother's first cousin and I had no idea until she came back from his funeral. "I just got back from my cousin's funeral. The bottom line is there isn't an example in the last 20 years where a player of Manning's stature has waited three years.

It’s a shame really. It pretty certain with just one more fully healthy season in his prime he would be a HOF’er. His numbers are right there with what seems to be the cut off.
Barring something completely unforeseen such as an injury or him deciding to become a bank manager, Ewers seems destined to become only the second Texas quarterback in the last 75 years to be drafted in the first two rounds.

I'm going to say 3 Texas QB's in the first two rounds, and 4 if we include QB's who start here but transfer somewhere else.

Ricky has 2K more rushing yards than Priest with almost identical receiving yards and receiving TDs. At his best Ricky was a better NFL player than Priest IMO. It’s close but I’d go with Ricky.
Oh my. One of them at his best was a OPOY and a 3 time All Pro. The other is Ricky Williams. It really isn’t that close.

Scottie to Spieth or Scottie to Crenshaw/Kite? To this point Scottie has nothing on Spieth. Not saying he’s not off to a helluva career but it’s not yet to Spieth’s level.
The numbers don’t lie. You are right though that it isn’t that close. Ricky has 25% more NFL rushing yards than Priest.
