Thank you. Appreciate it coming from you. That was a really good draft breakdown.

I think that is wishful thinking.Yeah, the reaction to the draft was odd IMO.
As I remember it, people were saying that Devin could fall out of the second day, and Brandon was expected to be third day, as well. So, the draft Texas players got was about as good as expected to be. The doom and gloom in response is a bit misplaced, in that regard. We already knew how bad the situation was, and the draft didn't reveal anything to make it worse.
It's myopic to believe that if Ingram catches that ball, it means Texas wins that game.Meh, it could have gone the other way. Ingram doesn't drop the TD in the end zone, we beat LSU, and we go on to have a much better season. Shoulda coulda woulda.
But then, what Sam said wouldn't have ruffled any feathers.
[/QUOTE]I'm not sure what to think about 2017? Was it good or bad?
Way back when he was first getting started in the media, my radio show was the first one to put him on the air.Daniel Jeremiah was terrific on NFL draft---his podcast Move the Sticks is great listen
That's a hard thing to convince them of right now. It's not a true statement at this point.Well said, we just need a good year with a win or two against top teams. The state of Texas is the football factory,We produce the players and they take them.We have to convince them that Texas is an equal opportunity to the NFL
I have Tommy rated as a six star, so IMO there isn't.IMO, there is a certain OL recruit that is even more important than the Brockermyers
Yes, but that has to actually materialize. It would huge if it happens that way.I know it probably won’t help with the 2021 class, but Herman having potentially 2-3 1st rounders and 4 day 1 and 2 picks for next year (if everything goes well this year) will help moving forward.
A monster season could send Sam Cosmi into the first round. The same is true of Joseph Ossai. If Jalen Hurts can go in the second round, why can't Sam Ehlinger? That's if there's a monster season to serve as the spring board.
No. 6 - Vic Schaefer carries a wallet that reads "Bad MF" ...
There's not enough time in the day for me to tell you how impressed I am with new Texas basketball coach Vic Schaefer.
(Buy) Hell yeah. Easily. They won 19 games this year before the Big 12 Tournament was set to begin, so yeah.
Yeah, I had the same reaction to the draft. If we can’t convince the Brockermeyer’s that we can develop them I have no idea how our current coach is ever going to get over the hump.
Also, if the season does not start on time I have no idea what is going to be different in Oct when it starts to cool down and flu season begins on top of things.
He's not a better passer than Hurts. Once you take away his first read, Hurts struggles in the passing game.I think if most people are being honestly with themselves, Hurts was a better QB prospect than Ehlinger in terms of projecting to the NFL. I'm NOT saying Hurts is/was an elite NFL QB prospect going into last season, but he was a HELLUVA lot better as a CFB QB going into last season than 99% of this board wanted to give him credit for. I think he's a much more fluid athlete than Ehlinger. I think he's more accurate. I also think he has a stronger arm. And are we really going to debate intangibles such as "leadership" when the other guy is Hurts?
I wonder if there's any chance we can get him to speak to Herman and Shaka about how a guy named a Texas HC should act upon arrival.
Injury related?
I think his arm strength is a monster plus. The durability worries me to a degree. No, I just question his arm strength. He always had A++ talent around him, not that just anyone could do what he does. I just have a hunch, his arm strength and durability will hinder him at the next level.
- I'm left wondering why the author made no mention of Zach Shackelford signing with Tampa Bay as a priority free agent. I demand reparations for Shack
Open your eyes. You are missing all the clues. We may be a sleeping giant
but I’ve seen little to think Herman is nearly enough to get us going
Smart man!!!Worries about Herman being able to develop talent like a top 5 program after 3 years should be VERY concerning to the Longhorns head brass. NFL draft being prime example.
(Buy) That's fair at this point heading into year four, especially after he needed to can 70 percent of his staff. The 2019 season is one that he's been building towards for four years and the urgency around it is real. It's time to deliver.
I would agree with this if the "VERY" was removed. Year two was good with wins over ou and Georgia. Year three was a disappointment but some significant problems were addressed. In year four, Herman's first real class (that he recruited) will be in their third year in the program and should be maturing. We'll see. I have concern, but I'm not "VERY" concerned.
I wish nothing but luck and success for Shack as he enters the NFL. I like it when good things happen to good people.- Your point about the difficulty of trying to convince a 17-year-old to ignore SEC stats and play in a league that needed TCU to have five guys drafted to avoid having less than 20 players selected is very accurate.
- I agree with you on Shaka. It's great to collect 5-stars, but on-the-court results do matter.
- Daniel Jeremiah was definitely solid.

I think the VERY stresses the urgency at hand.Worries about Herman being able to develop talent like a top 5 program after 3 years should be VERY concerning to the Longhorns head brass. NFL draft being prime example.

I know Herman only averaged three more wins a season in his first three years than the previous three years. But,if he is able to continue that improvement over the next three years, that would be an average of 11 wins a year.I don’t feel like this column is negatively slanted
I feel like the program is not headed in a very positive direction - if this season isn’t huge then man we are in trouble
But late October is when flu season kicks off...They want to avoid the possibility of a start and stop.
Probably was able to get a good recommendation that backed up what they saw on film.SIAP...probably helped Shack at least a bit that Herb Hand was a college teammate of the Buccaneers’ Oline Coach.
*insert elmo shrug gif*But late October is when flu season kicks off...
Definitely fills a major need with the loss of Diggs. I'm curious to see how they use him considering he plays the same position as Thielen.Good info and article Ketch! Agree with you on the Ravens and Dolphins in the draft this year. I think my Vikings are right there with those 2 teams in this year's draft(3 best team drafts). Expecting at least 3 maybe 4 starters from this year's draft for the Vikings. Jefferson is going to put up the best stats this year in my opinion of any WR from this year's draft. Cousins is going to feed him the ball!
He's going to need all the help he can get.SIAP...probably helped Shack at least a bit that Herb Hand was a college teammate of the Buccaneers’ Oline Coach.
