Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (Addressing the elephant in the room)

Here is the Bio of Mr. Blue on Bloomberg.

I am not saying this means anything one way or another at this point, but he is certainly appears very accomplished.

You can find pictures of Mrs. Blue and the Winlkevoss twins as well, so maybe Mr Blue wants their cell records too. The wife looks like a trouble maker to me; hopefully Charlie stayed true to those values....

Yeah, he's not someone to be taken lightly.

Ketch, when are y'all making a new podcast discussing the new hires, and now this, and some basketball talk?

No question about it.....Points 1 and 2 should not have been written and put in this column at all.

a. So, in your world we would just pretend the events in No.1 doesn't exist?

b. So, in your world, only positives and let's not discuss actual concerns about a critical area of concern going into a critical year?

Pretending isn't what I really do.

I also remember Anwar reporting on here it was "accurate" to suggest some BMD behind the scenes were working against Charlie, and trying to sabotage both hires, and he also mentioned Fenves offered some guarantee to Gilbert Charlie wasn't going anywhere after this year. I don't think Charlie operated without any mistakes, but lets not also pretend he was operating with much support behind him until Fenves stepped in. Hell Perrin was out of town even and Charlie was trying to handle contract negotiations. It was dumb.

You need to stop perpetuating the idea that:

A) any guarantees were made

B) any assurances/gestures of support would supercede the impact of another poor season.

I never said it would automatically override a crap season (though I could see it impacting one on the fence), however I'm only perpetuating what Anwar claimed back then

Anwar has since clarified this issue. Gilbert's hiring guarantees didley squat for Strong's employment in 2017.

Interesting. Never saw him back away if he did. Was going off his claims of assurances given to Gilbert, and Suchomel later also backing him up that it happened. I think everyone expects Charlie needs to have a better season

None of those assurances made in Tulsa really matter. Just foreplay talk.

recording today at 10am

Absolutely the best feature of the site. Really enjoyed the one with Josh from SoonerScoop. Would be cool if over the next few months you could bring one guy on from all the other sites in the Big 12 to talk about what they have returning and what their outlook is for next season.

That's the plan. Thanks for the encouragement.

Who hired that Wickline guy two years ago?

And, did I read that right, his replacement has never coached at a major college before?

Hmmmm.
