sellI missed your b/s, so here’s my question:
B/S - Milwees ability to spot for Sark and help him call plays on the sideline make him definitely the most important offensive coaching hire, and possibly even the most important coaching hire on the staff (not including recruiting, just coaching).
Totally get it. In my "nearly missed the cut" section.Killer Queen, You're My Best Friend, on my Queen top 10 list.
Whew! Thank you.I thought about ranking the coaches using the Rivals ranking system. Can't disagree with any of your assessments Ketchum.
It made for a good debate.Very debatable and I’m a Freddie Mercury fan. Best ever concert has a lot of tangential facets.
appreciate you taking the time to say as much!Great breakdown of the staff. Appreciate all the hard work also you and staff did during the coaching search. Great work
a. Thanks! I'll take that respect!Great Queen list
You have to be a legit Queen fan to like Get down make love. It is classic Queen!
Tom Brady taking the Bucs to the Super Bowl separates him from the Belichick shadow
Montana could not do that with the Chiefs
He is 40 freaking 3!
Sark did a great job with this staff. I’ll have to go back and read to see how you ranked it against Mack’s Staffs. It feels like he is inheriting a better roster than Herman, Strong or Brown did. Other than one year with Ricky Williams...
So @Ketchum was 6 figs before 6 figs was 6 figs?
agreed.I think Texas BBall can hang with or beat the Baylor team but they will have to play very near flawless BBall to pull it off.
He's a 10 from an offensive coaching standpoint. He's a 9 as a recruiter.Ketch, how do you rate Sark as a recruiter & coach? What college head coaches do you consider to be a 10 at recruiting?
What was your top concert? I will say Bohemian Rhapsody is my favorite rock movie by a large margin. It made for a good debate.
I'm not sure I'm going to have a good answer for you.How is One Vision not on that list?
I'll see what I can do. It feels difficult to fairly grade Mack;'s staff in retrospect. I could probably do the others for sure. There was definite dead weight on previous staffs.@Ketchum you should do a breakdown of this staff vs every staff we have had from the Mack Brown era on. Just total up the points per guy and give a total staff grade. I think you’d be surprised by the combined totals. Granted you are using success at other places for the current staff.
Hot take - I think you can look at any of the staffs and find a guy with a lower grade than the lowest on this staff that doesn’t have an incomplete. Most if not all of the staffs had at least some dead weight.
keep those numbers handy and do it again after the 2021 season and the 2022 class ink is dry.
1. I think I've already made it clear that I'm coo-coo for CoCo Puffs over Georgia Southern linebacker Reynard Ellis.
Funny story, my 20 year old has always been into our 80’s music and especially my hair/rock bands. Absolutely loves Queen, all she listens to. Glad I’ve passed something on to these millennials.I'm not sure I'm going to have a good answer for you.![]()
1967 Monterey Pop festival. What was your top concert? I will say Bohemian Rhapsody is my favorite rock movie by a large margin.
Here we go....
10. Crazy Little Thing Called Love - A throwback to the 50s that makes me move every time I hear it.
9. Under Pressure - It feels like history would suggest this song has to be on here somewhere.
8. Get Down, Make Love - A personal favorite I had to make room for on the list.
7. Another One Bites The Dust - It's Freddie in full on alpha-male toughness. That base line.
6. Don't Stop Me Now - Over the years, I've really come around on this track. It wasn't on my previous Top 10 list about five years ago.
5. Somebody to Love - So good. I'm open to the idea that I have underrated this song by a couple of spots.
4. We Will Rock You - Arguably the greatest sports arena anthem song of them all.
3. Fat Bottomed Girls - With all due respect to the No. 1 song, this is as quintessential of a Queen song as any.
2. We Are The Champions - Has a special place in my heart because of its place at the end of Revenge of the Nerds.
1. Bohemian Rhapsody - Slam dunk choice for the top spot. It's the song if aliens came down from outer space and asked about their fellow alien, Freddie Mercury.
Good post. This is very much a show me year for Andre Coleman. I don’t think he would survive another WR class like this years class. Way too many stud WR’s in the state and he should be able to land a handful of them.
Gideon - I honestly think he could become a rock star, but how long does that take and what is his leash?
Joseph - I don’t love the hire. I view him as a solid coach all the way around. I think he’s a pretty good Coach and a solid recruiter. Will be interesting to see if he reach new limits at Texas.
Biggest surprise to me about the staff, is the like of a West Coast presence.
I love the Flood, Banks, KP, and Davis hires. Like erection love!
Radio Ga Ga actually isn't one of my favs.Blake Gideon’s recruiting grade should go up with some time at Texas. Overall great mix of coaching and recruiters. Really excited about this group.
Love the Queen list and would try to add “Radio Ga Ga” in there somewhere.
Someone posted a tick tock of Tara I feel like? I/QUOTE]
It was me.
