Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (Hello, 40. Hello, memories.)

Growing up worshipping Baylor football? The hell?!?
Born in Waco. First ga,e was at Baylor Stadium in 1983. I went to every Baylor home game for years. I was at DKR for 50-7 and had James Francis sign my program afterwards on the field.

"Luis Suarez is a goal scoring god." Uh, Ronaldo has scored 50+ every year for the past 6 years, which has never been done before in the history of Spanish soccer. Good try, though!
He ain't Suarez.

Really enjoyed reading those "early days" recollections.

You have done well, Grasshopper! The American Dream is your reality.

This old doesn't have a clue about what the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket means. Consequently, I have no idea of your analogy describing CS's scholarship offerings. Translation please.
EDIT: Remembered Google is my friend. I now know about the Golden Tickets.

Another EDIT:
Happy Birthday, Geoff!
Love ya, Bob. I miss ya.

That was really cool to read your back story man. Thanks for doing that.

I agree with your running back rankings and I hope Texas can move up to at least the second spot by the end of the year. Didn't Barry sanders Jr go to Stanford? Did he transfer?
Yes, Sanders transferred to Oklahoma State.

Ketch. Truly enjoyed reading your top moments... It was interesting, refreshing and humble. Sometimes it is good to reflect on where you came from to help you remember where you want to go.
I wish I could have included the R-rated and X-rated stories. One day.;)

"(Sell) Pac-16, baby. Better media markets, better road trips and better overall platform for the Longhorns."

Very, very, very, very serious.

You need me to put it on paper for you?

No. 10 - And finally...
If my 40s are marked by little moments like this for the next 10 years, I have a feeling that this might be my favorite decade yet.

At 36 with a 3 year old and a one year old, I can honestly say that there isn't a drug, concert or sporting event that compares to the fun I have with my kids. Even lazy Sundays can be just hilarious.

I had a friend once tell me, "the days can take forever but the years will fly by," and it's proven to be so true. Being a parent is fkn righteous.

I partied quite a lot before kids and was worried about what I'd be missing... turns out, it's way better... and makes the opportunities to party all that much more fun!

He ain't Suarez.

You're right. Ronaldo isn't Suarez. He's better and it isn't really close. Sure, Suarez won the Pichici, which you probably don't even know what that is without googling it, but he is nowhere near Ronaldo.

I feel the same way.

Luis is the better, more lethal player right now.

I don't need google to see that.

First, Happy 40th. Good times.

Second, what running backs are you watching? Forget the lines in front of them. You saying our guys are third are like you predicting that Gray was going to run for 1200 his senior year. There is No One that is in the class of Foreman and Warren. No One.

Let's revisit this at the end of the year, shall we? Hell, OU guy could hold Foreman's jock in a 1 to 1 match-up last year.

I hope that chick that used you for an Eagles ticket got herpies from one of the dudes she ditched you for.

I love the dance routine. Can't get much cuter than that. She already has the moves.:)

I'd take the PAC 16 in a heartbeat over the Big 12, especially because we could probably take OU, TT and OSU with us. However, media money, exposure and passion for sports would be better in the B1G. Relook the media markets with UT in the B1G...7 of the top 10 would be B1G...the ratings would be off the charts, which would drive long term media revenue.

Either choice is an improvement for UT fans...it will be interesting to see what choice our new leaders make.

@Ketchum at 40 there are things that are no longer appropriate, but one thing is still true...you are too young to think about writing your memoirs.

@Ketchum @Anwar Richardson

1. Oklahoma (Sam Perine/Joe Mixon)
2. Baylor (Shock Linwood, Johnny Jefferson and Devin Chafin)
3. Texas (D’Onta Foreman, Chris Warren and Kirk Johnson)
4. Iowa State (Mike Warren)
5. West Virginia (Rushel Shell)
6. Texas Tech (Justin Stockton)
7. TCU (Sewo Olonilua and Kyle Hicks)
8. Oklahoma State (Barry Sanders Jr. and Chris Carson)
9. Kansas State (Charles Jones, Dalvin Warmack and Justin Silmon)
10. Kansas (Ke'aun Kinner and Quiv Gonzales)

Did I miss something? Turpin? Is he still with TCU?

Thanks! SIAP
