Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (Herman The Whisperer...)

Better is better, and in this case, definitely so.
This argument keeps coming up and I just don't see how you can put Durant on this different level than Leonard. What is your reasoning? That he won a championship with GS? That he was the MVP in the Finals? Leonard had already done that as well.

This is the deal on last year he switches places with Leonard and it is the same result GS wins the championship. Who are the best 5 players in the GS and SA series? Well 4 of them play with GS! What was the score while they were all 5 on the court in game 1? Who was the best player in that game until he got hurt? He was kicking their ass with that lineup minus Parker already. That is nothing short of incredible. Yes, GS swept them without Parker and Leonard and probably would have beaten them anyway. I get it GS is the best team in the league by a good margin. Nobody does more for their team than Leonard does for the Spurs in the NBA. Not Westbrook who can't get out of the first round and Not Harden who quit on his team in game 6 and got blown out. Certainly not KD as GS still would have made it to the Western Conference finals even without him and had made the finals the last 2 years without him. I love KD and think he is a top 3 player in the NBA but lets not go overboard.

You have eyes, right?

What did the 2016 Western Conference semi's tell you about these two? That was 15 months ago.

In the time that has passed, Durant's evolution as a player has reached the summit. He's an impact player at every turn on the court.

Again, we're talking about a possible 10-15 type player in the history of the game. Only a Spurs fan would think that Kawhi is on the same level.

If he can do the same things here that he's done at Ohio State and Houston, I think he has a chance to be our next DKR."

With all due respect to DKR I believe CTH will take the program to a consistently higher level than it's ever been. And within 5-6 years I think he'll have more conference titles than Mack did in his entire career.

That could only take three years iirc.

Although the big 12 is not the same big12 it was when mack was here. 2008 had how many different big 12 teams in the top 10 during the season?

Speaking of eyes. You did watch the game 1 right?? You did watch all the games they played last yr right? Yes, I am a Spurs fan but think I'm objective enough to admit GS is much better as a team. Again compare the teams n talent on the teams. It's not even close! That's what makes Leonard that great of player. He flat out carries that team. Does Durant do the same for GS? My eyes tell me Leonard was the best player on the court in game 1 of the Western conference finals in 2017. Now we can speculate on what MAY have happened if he doesn't get hurt but that is all it would be.

well, at least you're not basing your opinion on a one-game sample size or meaningless regular season games...;)

Go back and read the tweet from the article. Look at the stats. I mean... this isn't rocket science.

I don't do stats or rocket science. I just watch the games. That's it. Wrong or right that's how I judge players or games. We can agree to disagree no problem there as heck I like the discussion!:)

Agreed.

My final point is that only LeBron and Bird rank ahead of KD right now among all-time small forwards.
