Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Is the Texas D really the 85 Bears?)

Nothing regarding the article; just want to say that I love the name Haven. That’s going right to the top of my name list

Seems like I’ve heard number 2 before. 😉 The simpletons won’t like that. However, it’s been pretty damn quiet for a guy with his pedigree and expectations at QB in a very important season. We’ve heard more about his preparations for the season than we have about his actual play. None of this means anything, of course, he could still have an outstanding season and I’m praying he does, but it was hard not to notice. Where do you think he needs to finish among Big 12 QBs to have the season Texas needs?

So, are autographed or jersey cards the only things really pulling big dollars these days? What’s worth collecting?

Is it crazy that I’m still not blown away by Sean O’Malley, despite that gorgeous right hand?

I’m fascinated and excited by all the talk about the defense. I think this Bama game could be a big statement for Texas. A veteran D with some sneaky young talent might be trouble for a young Bama offense trying to figure it out. The new OC from ND will be much more run heavy for them, IMO, especially if they have some uncertainty at WR. Is the Fr Bama LT on the Kelvin Banks bus?

Very good job in my opinion on Crue list.

(Buy) Sark and this staff are experts at it.
The Buy on Texas flipping two top 100 kids caught my eye.

Ketch you wanna put your stamp on a couple of prospects???

I was thinking the exact same thing about Messi. He looks like he’s having the time of his life.

a. Top 3

b. It depends on the collection and sport, but those things go a long way.

c. Kind if right there with you.

d. I think the Texas/Bama game might play below 27 points for the winner.

e. Yes, he is. Exact comparison I made in my head.

So on one hand you’re predicting Ewers to throw for over 3800 yards and 30 TDs and on the other you’re not sure if he’s a top 10 player on the team? Excuse me but what the hell
He's got some unreal talent around him.

I just dont understand how QE can look like Superman against mighty AL last season, then he improves SO much in the offseason and not be dominating in scrimmage right now.

It’s a red flag if you ask me.
I think it’s more a function of the D looking so good. The defense sees the offense a lot.

Sounds like Ewers/Sarkisian may need 3-4 games to hit their stride and find an identity with this offense. Hope I'm wrong!

The most realistic answer is your expectations for the offense is way too optimistic. Quinn nor Sark for that matter did much to cement the expectations you are setting. I get it on paper they have the talent but until they prove it on the field and actually put players in position to make plays I can’t buy the hype.

Taking anything a player does for one quarter is ridiculous. Look at our recent history with QBs.

There was once a guy that looked like a Heisman contender against ND that most people have forgotten about.
I still remember Heard breaking records and Thompson lighting up OU. Quinn has done literally nothing to have the expectations he has other than his five star perfect rated status and some cool throws in shorts.
