Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Kudos to PK, but what about 2023?)

Ketch, I like your top 10 list of War Movies...but Saving Private Ryan is number 1 for me. I mean SFP is about as real of a War Movie as it gets. But George C. Scott's performance in "Patton" is the absolute best ever in any War Movie.
If both movies are on at the same time, I'm watching Patton.

Riley spreads the ball around. Everyone knows that. If he thinks he’s gonna be Addison at Pitt he’s wrong

Wut? Riley’s first 5 years at OU had at least one WR with big numbers

Sorry I read this article. Very depressing on multiple points.

I am happy about player development in most positions. This shows our coaches are as good as we expected. This development increased fan expectations. It got us to the point we were convinced we would beat a very talented and mature 4th ranked team of the college football. I anticipate this same development next year.

We just need our most important position to continue to develope. Ewers has flashed incredible talent at times. He is worth the investment to the long term future of the program. He also needs teammates to help make routine plays at key moments to change the narrative.

I hate to hear your thoughts on Worthy. He is a great talent. But he has had a sophomore slump type of season. I predict he will do very, very well here if he stays.
Sorry you found it depressing. There were a LOT of positive things. I can't make a person focus on those, though.

Watch it again. It’s on another level. A rambling piece of prose?, yes. A masterwork that contemplates every facet of war; inhumanity, cruelty, beauty, struggle, and existential conflict?, yes.
I watched it recently. It was solid. Just not in my top 10.

The sobering piece is the QB room. We went from top of the mountain in terms of plan, to very awkward in reality.

If MM and HC portal, with Ewers and Arch as the two main options, that doesn’t make one warm and fuzzy.
Time for Sark to really do what his rep says he can do.

It's called honesty. How exactly is it clickbait? It hasn't been teased anywhere for clicks.

Some of you really don't think before posting.
That’s fair. I stated an entire thread on it because I like the chaos. I’m sure you know something but all one would have to do is turn on the games and watch his body language. He isn’t happy, I just hope Sark does his job and convinces him to stay.

I do agree, as some have posted in the other thread, that Worthy is delusional if he sees himself on the same level as Addison.

but you were talking simple numbers. The reality is Ron Dayne and Cedric are pretty close to the same RB. His like Ricky, Jamaal and Bijan are on higher levels.
Both Ced and Ron averaged 3.8 YPC in their career as pros.

That’s the problem, it doesn’t teach team, it teaches me. And we wonder why people are so me oriented nowadays
again, no one says anything when dudes are "processed"

The team isn't more important than these dudes doing what is right for them.

I did, he looks different than he did against LA-Monroe. I mean yes, the competition is much different, but he doesn’t look like he wants to fit into tight windows anymore. The deep ball he’s always letting rip, maybe since he overthrows everything?

The deep ball pick against TCU was just bad.
He needs to regroup mentally in the off-season.

Who they hell stays long at the visitors gym to practice post game FT’s. Lame look by the Greek Freak.

Given the soon to be conference move, I would think UT and the SEC would want to get to play one another in a bowl game versus OR or WA. Would rather play Ole Miss. More fun to watch.

On to watching hoops and looking forward to the Creighton game.

I think you may have missed Inglorious Bastards as a top war movie.

I guess I didn't really consider it a war movie. I LOVE it, though.

It was, and everything feels a year behind because lf it. This is the year we were supposed to have last year. Last year was just a waste.

Look, 100% of the programs in FBS would've taken Ewers as a transfer. Sark did a great job getting him to Texas, but also hitched his wagon to him.

I dont blame the strategy at all. If Ewers is a miss, that's beyond disappointing. But it's easy to say in hindsight he should've stuck with Card, Thompson, or a different veteran. The reality is if Ewers comes you go all in, and hope you have a lot of chips on the table when the game is over. That's what everyone would've done, even if the river can bust ya.
I don't disagree. I'm just all for accountability.

Maybe. Riley will be attracting a lot of recruits and portal guys with his reputation. He probably does start but I would evaluate carefully if I were him. He doesn’t want to become Tariq Milton there.
do what?

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. It’s really not about the numbers, although he does seem to be “targeted” at a disproportionate number compared to other receivers, who appear to be more adept at being aggressive making plays on the ball and display better hands. How do you argue that Ketch???
Correct me if I’m wrong, but this all started when stated my opinion that given the option of having Worthy or Stewart, I’d take. Stewart, because I think he’s more of a baller with similar speed but better hands and ball awareness.
Having said that, look at the two receivers “stats” for this year and tell me they’re not similar, and PLEASE Don’t try to tell me Stewart has s better offense behind him.
That’s my point. I don’t care how bad Ewers has looked, worthy’s numbers should be significantly better than any receiver in Jimbo’s offense. Edge, Stewart.
He's been used incredibly poorly this year. They haven't exactly gotten him the ball in ways that feature his strengths.

This is more off base than your PK takes. One of the only things that Quinn has done consistently well this year is sensing pressure and knowing when to step up into or escape from the pocket. His pocket presence has in no way been an issue this year.
No way?

That feels really... emphatic.

it was purely a hypothetical. If Bijan played 20 years ago he would have gotten 200-250 carries/yr. And if Benson played today he wouldn’t play a 4th year
I was just asking a question.

why is he delusional if he thinks that?

why is he delusional if he thinks that?
Because he isn’t close to as complete a receiver as Addison is. One is an all American who catches anything thrown his way the other is Worthy, and that’s not a knock on Worthy it’s just how good Addison is.

Dunkirk definitely isn't in my top 10. I've watched it a few times.
With all due respect, you didn’t get it. Nolan’s obsession with time is at play here. It takes a few watches to get. Also, Dunkirk, next to D day, the Battle of Britain, and mid way, may be the most pivotal parts of WW2.

I've watched Addison a lot this year. If Worthy was playing at USC this season, he'd have better numbers.
