Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (No excuses, time to whip OU)

They win those 3 games with Dak.
You’ve watched the Cowboys underperform over and over again whether Dak is in or not, and you are willing to go out on that limb, but you are not sold that Texas would have been 2 points better against Bama and 4 points better against Tech with Ewers in the game. You might have a little river boat gambler in you😁

Yes, they were playing teams that are...

2 mostly average teams at home and one mostly average team on the road.

Not really.
Doesn’t mean, given this fan bases psyche, we aren’t ready for the next Heisman performance is right around the corner with those guys. It very well may not be, but we are a damaged bunch.

There's not a Heisman campaign in earnest or not in earnest.
Bijan is going to run through the OU Defense like illegal NIL money runs through college station. He will have his Heisman moment in the second half, running over, around and past the twitching Brent Venabals.

If Oklahoma lets him play, it'll be a sign that Gabriel's brain and the optics of their care for his brain matter less than beating Texas.

That just can't happen.

I think you are giving them too much credit by saying it cant happen. If that kid can stand up and not drool while doing so they will play him. Its who they are

@Ketchum

Sorry. You misunderstand me. I was NOT SUGGESTING that we would be doing well if we go 7-5. I was using the phrase to indicate that we might struggle now to go 7-5.

B/S: given the amazing parity in the B12 this year, instead of upgrading to an 8 or 9 win season, we are going to do well to go 7-5. Games that looked like W’s now look WAY MORE difficult.

(Sell) Texas will not be doing well to go 7-5. That's not doing well. That's doing mildly ok.

He needs to do the opposite of his natural instincts, so, yes.
As much a swe say "Turtle Tom" both Sark/PK definitely get more conservative with leads. In CFB where superior talent makes a difference it seems UT should so the opposite as more plays and aggression should allow the higher talented team to get more plays.

OMG thank you for not putting Friends on your list.

I blame that show for single-handedly bringing about the beta male revolution.

Solid List. The Wire stands above all comers - not only a great show but encapsulates 4 Decades of American History and Culture. Truly Magnificent. Signed ….. a fan.

i think you are overrating OUs demise - I could easily see our offensive line massively struggling , and a turnover or two from our offense (big game jitters ) and this being a close game

Ou may be scrubby , but I don’t doubt they will play their best agai

Oklahoma was highly rated early based on their massive history. Some penciled them I for playoffs. If you have seen them play, you know better. They are nowhere near the past teams. They are being sliced and diced.

Total homer vote if you were to include limited series: True Detective season one was good TV. No argument with the list. It’s like having to choose between Ferraris and Porsches (or whatever equivalent) - no bad call.

Through five games this season, Card has put together a passer efficiency total of 158.3, which is 7 points higher than Sam Ehlinger's best season total (151.8 in 2019) while he was with the Longhorns. That's not to say that Card is better than Ehlinger as much as it’s to say that Card is playing a fairly rock-solid brand of football. If you merely focus on what he's doing instead of what he's not, you can win with him on Saturday.
Great write up Ketch. What impresses me the most with Card is his progression. You can literally see him getting more comfortable in the pocket, moving to avoid pressure, and making throws. Last year he folded under pressure. Considering he only had a year in high school as a starting QB, it is not surprising that the speed of the game was challenging for Hudson. Nor should we be surprised that he is still getting comfortable with feeling and adjusting to pressure.

In his five games this year, Card’s QB rating has been 120.3, 124, 138.4, 159.6, and 208.7. He is getting better every game, and both eyeballs and stats tell the same story. If he ever starts to get comfortable with the deep passing game, he will take off. Quinn may be the answer upon his return and in 2023, but Card is playing himself into a nice landing spot on the transfer market, if he is so inclined after this season.

I would really love a blow out win this week, since OU is this bad.

GOT should be no.1. It was a global mega show. None of the others were.

And the sibling reunion made me cry.

The Wire baffles me. I love all other 9, but despite three genuine attempts to see what others do in that show - I’m at a loss.

“If Oklahoma lets him play, it'll be a sign that Gabriel's brain and the optics of their care for his brain matter less than beating Texas.”

Shouldn’t people with medical chops be making this decision? What if he’s fine to play?

This is a poor subjective take in a world of shit media.

as long as we beat OU, I'll be happy but a mature Big12 title contending team would stomp this version of OU and so I hope we come out and put it on them like they would to us if the shoe was on the other foot.

(Buy) Card currently has the highest passing efficiency of any Texas quarterback since Colt McCoy in 2008, but there's so much focus on the plays that he doesn't make that it causes a lot of people to lose sight of what he actually does.

I’m sorry but I’ll never forget about 2021 Arkansas. What an absolute clown show that was for Card.

Man somebody was cutting onions in here during that last video. Thank you for sharing. We sometimes overlook how lucky we are in our lives until we see what others endure.

He was in way over his head …. But I’ve seen better blocking by a turnstile at Sea World.

No. 10 puts everything in perspective. Feeling rough right now but it’s just nothing compared to what a little girl
is going through.
