Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend

Thanks to Shane, I am, for the first time since 2012, actually excited about the upcoming season, if for no other reason, than to watch this kid grow in leaps & bounds (notwithstanding a few regressive steps here & there). In Shane I trust.

No.2 player in
- Thanks for getting me up to speed on the baseball search.

- Buechele appears hungry enough to learn from anyone. His work ethic is very impressive.

- The LeBron slogan is so true today.

Everyone may have a different opinion of what they are witnessing. I feel like we're witnessing greatness.
No.2 player in the history of the game.

Kind of a serious discussion, perhaps not one you're not taking serious enough...
Have raised three kids, two of them girls. Been married for forever. Have probably forgotten more about raising kids or treating females than you currently have a clue about. Maybe you should save your self-righteousness for those who might need it. As previous poster alluded to,you might try and target your unsolicited advice a little better. Your carpet-bombing approach gets really old.
And before suggesting I take my business elsewhere, you might consider the fact that your value as a
site is not you at all.

I do plenty by not abusing women. And I think those that do should have their dick chopped off. What more do you want me to do? You can't just claim moral superiotity because you say "be better men"
A. There's more we can all do, like taking action when we see obvious signs.

Nicole Brown didn't have a single man step forward. It happens everywhere, all the time.

This isn't rocket science.

B. I never claimed moral superiority. Get over yourself.

Black Lives Matter? That's a racist, hate group if ever there was one, and should be denounced as such, but no one has the balls to do so....i.e. "Pigs in a blanket, fry em like bacon!" "The only good cop is a dead cop." REALLY? The horrific ,terrible irony is this group says & does nothing about the mayhem and slaughter of blacks by their very own kind in ghettos across major cities in America. Neither does Obama. Neither does Jackson, neither does Sharpton. Why? Because sadly the "politics of race. and the phony narrative perpetrated by the Race Industry is actually more important than Black lives. These race hustlers have done more to set back race relations than anyone. Outrageous hypocrites to the nth degree! Where's the media? Where's the press? Where's the outrage?
I'm not even gonna try. I know a lost cause when I see one.

There is zero evidence that Mike Perrin was in any way the cause for the refusals by already well situated baseball coahes. Zero.

There is zero reason to believe that any other person in the AD slot would have gotten any different results. Zero.

I regard this column as a silly cheap shot at a very committed and hard working person whose presence has been a huge plus for Texas. .

That way I win.

Just don't see the relevance of the timing of the '96 hire compared to the current situation. Apples/oranges.
Really didn't make a comparison of the two.

Just pointed out that waiting until after the season, even if by chance, allowed for the Garrido hire to be made. Similar circumstances related to now might have killed that.

Timing is everything.

You've taken my call for men to pay more attention and to be more active way too literally.

I wasn't calling out anyone specially. We can all do more. If you can't see that, maybe there's just an issue you have with me that is blinding you to it.

I can't believe anyone would feel the need to feel offended in suggesting men as a group need to do more, as if the constant stories of abuse towards women isn't a blinking sign.

Zero reasons, huh?

I can tell you a high ranking official called it a clown show this weekend.

A skilled and tested AD would not be on target six or seven right now

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe if you rent a car then you have insurance through your main car insurance. I got in a wreck at the Rose Bowl with a rental and that is how it worked.

Where Patterson's skill set was underrated. He knew how to navigate this stuff.

You know what? Please accept my apology. Maybe I'm just having a bad day. I have nothing against you personally. Nothing at all.
I just believe strongly that some of our problems in this country come from too many blanket assessments. There are actually some of us who believe racism is an ugly, ugly thing, or that treating our loved ones tenderly is non-negotiable, for example. It is sometimes difficult to get others to believe that, and it hinders good healthy dialogue often times.
Regardless of all that, I do apologize to you. You seem to be a very good man.

This was non-wreck insurance, the extended kind.

Have to agree with Ketch here.
My impression is either:
A. You think you're perfect
or
B. You're disturbed by the thought of having to look inside yourself and really see how you could be better

Is that quote really evidence of anything? Was he higher ranking than Perrin, or someone who works for him? Lots of opinions on the leadership where I work, too.

It would be wise to withhold judgement until a hire is made, in my opinion.

It came from a place with knowledge of what has been going on daily within the search.

Again, Texas is going to get a good coach, but missteps have been taken. I've hailed Perrin a number of times over the last year. This isn't about me not liking him. This is about calling out what's happened for what it is.

The Shaka hire and the process of making that hire happen is a major feather in the cap.

I don't believe Perrin can make that hire.

Yeah, I think fans understandably give him a failing grade.

Seperate emotion and just put down on paper what he got done and have a 3rd party look at it- I think they will give him a very good grade.

Had two pretty successful hiring processes. We'll see what fruit we ultimately bear from that. Beer in the stadium and restructuring season ticket processes (much easier, IMO) was very good too.

I feel like fans should pour out a little alcohol from their concessions for Patterson every time they purchase it in the stadium.
