**Official Texas vs Purple "wizard" farewell tour of Survival gameday thread**

You mentioned in an earlier post that everything is on the coaches and everything that happens is because of coaching.

No i didnt.

I said everything that happens on the field is coached or allowed to happen. Two completely different things.

Are we saying we want our coaches to blame the players when they screw up? Is that the “culture” we want to build?

I’m thinking Sark would disagree with that mentality

No I’m saying Murphy being a mental case is not on Sark.

I guess the five yard throw that Murphy couldn’t complete is because Sark allowed it to happen.

I’m extremely happy to get the win today and against a really good team at that. KState is as well coached of a team as we will play all year. An ugly win counts the same. Still a ton of things to work on and Sark has to be better.

On the other hand, if Quinn can’t go next week then it’s time to see what Arch has. I’ve seen enough from Maalik. He is not ready at all. We win that game by 20+ with Quinn today. I can’t believe the time I spent arguing with people that said Maalik was better than Quinn just based off of that spring game lol
First Half Maalik was much better than Second Half Maalik. That guy sucked.

Some of the narratives you guys create are funny. We are 8-1 and 2-0 with a backup QB despite that QB not really playing that well for long streaches. Those are literately the only two things that matter right now.

Wow the big 12 refs just jobbed OU. Guess they felt like they couldn’t job Texas at home so they had to job OU today

Well, I’m not saying what you guys are crying about so I guess we’re even
Sark frustrates the hell out of me when he insists on giving the other team a chance to flip the momentum with always going for it instead of settling for a field goal. You kick a field goal and everyone is happy with the points. However, I think some criticisms are out of his control and are unreasonable.

Actually we’re not because my post wasn’t directed at you individually

Now as far as questioning sark you can do it if you want, but let’s have a little perspective. A lot of you guys were screaming for a Fg as Baxter was taking it 50 yards for a TD. Sark does what many of you all wanted him to do he loses the game.

Point is it’s easy to sit behind your phone and say oh should have done this should have done that when you don’t have any skin in the game(and we don’t)

see, i don't think murphy is a mental case any more than card was, or ewers was when he threw that bad pick against ul-monroe, or mccoy was against ohio state in 06. but we don't have time for that inexperience right now. manning will make mistakes if we shoehorn him in there, too. will he make the catastrophic mistakes murphy is making? i don't know.

but your being a coach.. i sit in the section where they give free coaches' tickets. been doing it for years. and i hear the dumbest crap said all the time. they sit up there and kvetch about mack and greg davis and charlie and shawn watson and herman and major and now they kvetch about sark. and sometimes they're right, and sometimes.. what's the saying... the most dangerous person in the world is a know it all with a little information? we won 2 state championships shortly; we aren't very good right now-- we coach them great, but kids do dumb stuff. or they need to learn from mistakes. or they need to be replaced. we might win the next 4 state championships if realignment goes exceptionally well-- we're still gonna coach them up. but they'll make mistakes. mistakes that i guarantee we didn't coach them to do. so come on here, thump your chest with boastful philosophical claims, then go kvetch to your buddies when a kid screws up.

bottom line-- today's problems were not coaching related. i'll add a for the most part, because im sure there were some coaching mistakes

And it should also be noted that before anyone questions sark if I had told you 6 weeks ago “hey Maalik Murphy is going to be the starting QB against KState” every single one of you would of said “oh shit were ****ed”. So credit sark and the coaching staff for finding a way.

this 100 percent. Maalik isnt ready to play and it shows but somehow we still won. 2 Games with him now. Get QE back and keep this same Defense that showed up today and we are good.

before anyone says "WE GAVE UP 30 TODAY"..we had 4 turnovers..2 within 2 minutes of each other. and STILL won. Defense was tired.

ps

ETHAN BURKE IS HIM!

Both teams can expect this from the zebras the rest of the season.
Oh yeah. They were never gonna let Texas and OU play in the big 12 title game. If they could knock both of them out they’ll try.

If it’s Texas/ok state in the title game you can bet it will be one of the most one sided officiated games ever.

It's not that @KChorn11. The powers that be in the Big XII are going to be really hard on TX and OK the rest of the season and that's where the zebras come in. We've been penalized more then the other team in every Big XII game this year. That was pi on OSU late in the game but it was a no call. I assume most 50/50 calls will go against Texas and Oklahoma the rest of the way. The bitterness about them leaving is running deeper than we realize.

Fair and probably agree
