Unless Manning gets in sometime, I think we've seen the last of any qb runs pretty much. Doubt Ewers will for a while. Wish Murphy would, even if he is slow.

this was not a coaching issue. at all. the qb play means we are very hampered offensively. we can't use our best playmakers, and the one we can use is facing a loaded box. short of bombing away more often, i don't know what you want. surely you don't think murphy was coached to float a stupid pass to the flat if the screen blows up, or that brooks was coached to fumble, or that x was coached to get held when breaking on a post-corner. defensively, k-state had 2 drives where they scored that started at the 30 or better. the first td was a 40 yard field off a blocked punt. they, in fact, were pretty dominant all game. we have one gigantic problem. and somebody said with quinn we win by 10-- the bullsh... with quinn we're up 31-7 at the half, and win that thing about 45-14. brooks' fumble was was a try too hard play-- i could see it coming the play before when he was running like he-man; he was trying to put the team on his shoulders. i'll allow it
No we will not at all. K State is a top 25 team who has blown out their last 3 opponents by a wide margin. It was an ugly win but there’s no way we drop beating a top 25 team.

I’m extremely happy to get the win today and against a really good team at that. KState is as well coached of a team as we will play all year. An ugly win counts the same. Still a ton of things to work on and Sark has to be better.
On the other hand, if Quinn can’t go next week then it’s time to see what Arch has. I’ve seen enough from Maalik. He is not ready at all. We win that game by 20+ with Quinn today. I can’t believe the time I spent arguing with people that said Maalik was better than Quinn just based off of that spring game lol

not all the time. i get tired of the silly shifts all the time to set up a run off tackle-- seems useless. i question SOME of the going for it on 4th down rather than taking fg's. i have NO IDEA why we would ever run a play that requires ad mitchell to do any kind of blocking. i can get behind the soft corner criticism (though injuries and bad safeties make it mildly justifiable).
but bad, off-target passes are not ALLOWED TO HAPPEN-- it's a product of a bad qb (i'll add-- so far; players get better). that INT today and the INT last week were COLOSSALLY stupid. neither were allowed to happen in practice. hudson card threw a HORRIBLE int in the debacle vs kansas a couple yeaars ago, but he was more than adequate last year, so dudes get better through mistakes sometimes. maalik doesn't have the luxury of playing sam houston and working his way through things. his sam houston was 5-2 byu. he has to do better if quinn can't go. he takes worthy and mitchell off the table in ways, and i had literally forgotten about sanders before he made the 4q catch. the play-caller is handcuffed. i've been there-- it's hard. that stuff out there that you're watching isn't playstation

Time to move on from Murphy. Bouncing passes on out routes, throwing behind slant routes, and throwing behind crossing routes so bad that his throws are even behind the defensive backs on coverage is tough to fix. But throwing across your body off your back foot to the opposite side of the field should not be in a QB’s DNA! Time for Manning and his mental upbringing on do’s and don’ts from the QB position. And finally, can a 240-lb 6-ft 5-inch athlete keep the football one time on the zone read?? K-State DE didn’t even pause on zone reads and was coming right down the line to assist on tackles from behind. K-State didn’t “come back”, they were given gifts in turnovers on our end of the field. Time for an athlete, even a true freshman, at the QB position if QE can’t go.
