Ohio State and Urban be troublin'

This morning I decided to test a theory I had, and it turned out I was right. 5 guys were standing around at work, I apporached the group and asked them if they had heard about the Urban Meyer scandal. To a man they all had, and began discussing it. I interrupted, asked if any of them could name the coach that was beating his wife, and I got 5 blank stares.

That's my biggest issue with these sorts of situations. Too often the person who knew somehow becomes more important than the person who is guilty. That isn't to say Urban is innocent in all this, I would just like to see more attention spent on the person who actually hit a women, not the guy that was supposed to report it.

and now.....Urban comes out and says he did know about the abuse by Zack Smith all along. In his defense he did say he was sorry he misled everyone at the last press conference. He also caims he reported the abuse back in 2009...WTF?

Who is Zach Smith?

Yeah obviously we're all college football fans posting on a message board so we know. But too many people are going to read a little something about this on facebook or twitter and Urban Meyer will be the one that matters.
 
Anybody hear of this? If some of this is true, Urban may deserve the attention more than you think. Maybe not a wife beater, but a sick, sadistic son of a bitch nonetheless.

 
Holy balls. Zach smith on espn is trying to convince me that his wife's wounds came from him defending himself from her attacks.

So what we are seeing here is two obviously unstable idiots who are at each other's throats, he smacks her around, she knows she can't leave him because she's preggers and she's not getting a better deal financially than she's got....... the relationship devolves into toxicity.......... wife comes after him when she drinks, he defends himself and probably knocks her around, and the cycle continues.

I'm not sure about the tiny penis part and have no desire to confirm but if what she claims is true then I have to say I agree with the rest of your post Clob. The pics she posted of her skin beet red in areas definitely came from excessive force Imo.

Why did he bring Smith to Ohio State. He had his contracted extended with raises. The Ohio State fans already wanted Smith canned for poor coaching abilities. Eleven Warriors have justified everything Urban has done about the abuse, so I feel better about that weasel Urban

Do you remember Earle Bruce? He was a former tOSU coach and Zack Smith is his grandson. In fact be was Urban's mentor at least that's what Urban said. And get this it's been disclosed that in 2009 after the first incident EB went down to FL and asked Courtney Smith to drop the charges cause it would hurt Smith and Meyer's career. It appears, at least to me, that Zach Smith considered himself as an tOSU legacy of sorts and thought he was untouchable.

Oh and one more thing it will interesting to see what will happen to their ad and school President.
 
So Urban passes it to his boss.....some shadow figure at Florida state that will never be heard of again......perfect alibi....

Anybody else starting to think Urban keeps his job? I am starting to think Urban survives as the bus runs over the AD.
 
I think Ohio state retains meyer. If I were them I would too. I don’t think the situation was that bad.
 
I don't think Meyer survives this. He's gone, IMO. I've never heard of a coach being put on administrative leave and come back.

Neither have I. But if his lawyer whips out some form of signed proof that Urban did in fact report this to the AD, cops, or anybody else higher up the food chain, they can't fire him for cause. If they fire him without cause, they are basically handing him a multimillion dollar settlement.
 
They hired Mary Jo White, chairman of SEC during Obama administration, to lead the investigation. She is currently leading the investigation of Les Moonves at CBS. If this is her new area of expertise, leads me to believe you aren't going into it planning on playing soft. With this development I think chances of Urban surviving took a hit. See 3 investigations below, and 3 pretty substantial penalties.

White has served in similar investigative roles for the NFL, including the “BountyGate” investigation against Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints, allegations of sexual and racial workplace misconduct against Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, and most notably for Ohio State fans, White served on the NFL's outside advisory panel that investigated Ezekiel Elliott, following which the league suspended Elliott for six games.

This many days without a statement/visible leadership from the AD says he is gone. Tressel was on his watch as was the recent diving team sex scandal.
