Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (13 days, folks... 13 days)

The guy that’s put multiple people in the league.
I thought he might have owned a message board because he was pretty sold on card when he named him as the starter going into the 2021 season.

And didn’t hesitate to make a change when he knew he wasn’t. He didn’t even go back to him when Casey broke his hand/thumb.

Something you say he won’t do now because it’s complicated.

Yes, wildly different is true but playing the best option to win is the same.

Wildly different is wildly different.

I can intellectually understand the thinking with going with Ewers. I disagree with him on what is probably slight margins. It's just that those slim margins sometimes end up mattering a lot in important moments.

Thanks Ketch for the Top 10 David Bowie list. Good stuff. It conjured a memory that will date myself but thought I would share. In the late 1980s -- maybe 1986-1987 -- Bowie did a tour in which he didn't play any (or very few) of his hits. Commercially well received, it was not. So in 1990, Bowie launched a tour in which he played only his hits -- and I mean all of them. No frills: Bowie, with a guitarist, bassist, and drummer -- nothing else. My sister and I saw the show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. And to this day, 35 years later, we both maintain that it was the best show we ever saw.

That was glass spider right? Saw it at the drum

Oh my, I was feeling pretty good about the season and now the intensity of anxiety that the last weekend of the season will bring is crazy. Damn, winner take all.

At once everything a UT fan could possibly want and everything they might fear.

Can't wait.

In 2022 when he threw a wide field deep out route on a dime against Bama I would’ve agreed with you. But now we know he struggles playing in a phone booth and the NFL is a mosh pit of congestion. They are going to see he’s undersized, has bad feet, overrated arm strength, no downfield accuracy and his stock will plummet. 4th round at best, I’m betting on 5th.
You are an idoit. Have you not seen the QB’s drafted lately? Anthony Richardson went 1st round and he didn’t do shit compared to Quinn. The list goes on and on. Undersized? Lmao.

Why on earth would you eliminate the Florida game? What does that prove?

Other #$EC QBs against Florida…

Beck - 128.9

Lamaleava - 108.4

Nussmeier - 110.9

Here is a PSA - when he says eliminate the Florida game it is to illustrate something, not to actually eliminate the Florida game

In this case, it's to illustrate what 80% of the sample size looks like without the biggest outlier.

B/S: Arch sees action in the Aggy game if offense fails to get things going in the 1st half.

B/S: Sark has already been game planning for the Aggy game?

(Sell/Buy) I think Sarkisian is going to ride Ewers to the finish line. The coaches/analysts within the team have been scouting/preparing this game since the spring/summer

B/S: The Aggie game will be like a Game Seven of the World Series—everything has to be on the table. Quinn needs designed run plays, and if he’s not moving the offense, Arch should come in immediately to mix things up.

(Buy) That's the perfect description of the game and it's exactly how I would treat it.

Soo, Sark rides Ewers, or brings in Manning if QE has issues?

BTW, no one should ignore how high the highs have been when Quinn has been on. If you can just elevate the poor play to average playin the next 12-16 quarters, there might be another 8-12 quarters after that.

I’ll maintain my stance that Sark has a better grasp on the situation than you or anyone else that posts on this board. You’ve seen a couple of games on tv while he has seen them daily, in person, in the film room, in games, in practice etc…for two years.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Nothing like being 9-1, two wins from the playoffs, 3 wins away from a SEC championship…………and people having a serious discussion about whether the backup is better or not.
That's the downside of recruiting 5-star quarterbacks on the regular. This didn't happen in 2005 when Matt Nordgren was the back-up. ;)

Of, course he does.

I also could see from my television that Brooks should have started over Baxter, and he saw them daily in person.

It goes that way sometimes.

He wasn’t sitting Brooks and made the change.

It’s what you’re saying he won’t do now.

Enjoy. I’m out.

Again, the context and circumstances are different.

Also, I'm not saying I'm right and he's wrong. I don't know if I'm right. It's just my opinion.

Richardson makes Quinn look like Case McCoy when it comes to size and skill set. Which is why there will be a huge delta between where Richardson was drafted and where Quinn is drafted. You charmine soft a$$ wipes want people to just blow smoke up your a$$ and give you a participation ribbon.

I just think Arch does the things that Sarks offense really loves at a level higher than Q and he’s more mobile (I think his overall ceiling is higher too), even though a mobile QB is not really a Sark thing, it’s damn nice to have to get the yards however you can to bail out bad plays. I would bet Arch’s ratings next year are higher than Qs this year even with a rebuilt OL. That said, Sark is in a tough spot for various reasons and he does have an affinity for Quinn that I understand. I just think Arch was made for Sarks offense.

The dynamics are complicated, but yes. I think the better player is not playing.
It’s hard to trust a guy that keeps putting the ball on the ground. Blue did it again Saturday. He is dynamic, no doubt. Just hard to trust.

Arch's early profile screams the kind of offense that is more like what Sark had at Alabama under Mac Jones.

A example of stars not having anything to do with INDIVIDUAL success. As a group, yes, absolutely but as to the individual player, nope. The young man can play.

as long as we hold the initial aggy “start of the game surge”, we are going to carve their D. Everyone thinks it’ll be a game til the very end. I do not. Also, prettt sure Sarks O has beaten elkos D multiple times.

Even if we just isolate the deep ball skills, it’s enough to make a pretty big difference. Hit a couple of those deep shots against Arkansas and it’s a totally different game. See: Ole Miss.

How would you rank the A&M defense among the units Texas has played this season?

Arch is better than Nico.
Would our record be any different if we had Baxter this year?
Do you think Blue goes Pro and Texas lands a top transfer at RB
Does Texas lose a recruit before signing day?
How many transfers would you take this year?
We have been blessed the last 3 years at DT who does Texas have next year that will make a big difference?
