I like the banter!Ketch, do you feel like you're spinning your wheels, trying to change all of the experts opinions on this thread? It's kind of the old don't argue with an idiot, you can't win and they'll drag you down to their level adage.

well played but still a big statement.
I didn't say you were wrong, just that it was a bold statement. for a HC to sack a coordinator during the season typically spells a short term lifespan as a HC.I mean... no improvement through the half point of the season?

Two things come mind when I think of Jon Bon Jovi Dead or Alive.
1) it’s the song I sang the last time I did karaoke over a decade ago. It’s a crowd pleaser especially if you suck at singing. Really gotta let it loose on the air guitar solo.
2) it was the opening theme song for Deadlist Catch. Which was a great show about the horrible lives of Alaskan Crab fisherman.
I'm not sure he could afford the risk of not making the change at that point.
I think that's probably right.Semi related question Regarding your poll, what’s the minimum number of wins in your mind that must be achieved to avoid the fan bases hot seat? i think Sarks bosses are giving him 4 no matter what but what would it take for the fans to be excited going into year 3 and not another “here we go again” sentiment?
My opinion:
9 makes everyone happy
8 is enough to inspire optimism with the right 8 but certainly debate amongst factions of fans.
Assuming Alabama is a loss(I am) he’d have to go 9-2 the rest of the season to hit 9 so for me personally I need to see 8-4 to be optimistic. 3 or fewer big 12 losses is not asking a lot at a place like Texas.
thoughts?
Perhaps in his current state as an alpha.I still can’t believe KD had his toe on the line on the shot that would have eliminated the Bucks in Game 7 last postseason. He gave his all in that series. Was that his last good look at a title?
It's funny how that happens. When Texas actually gets better in the trenches, it will be amazing how much better the OL/DL coaches and coordinators look.
Arkansas ate him alive last year but then again, their 3 guys whipped our 5.Astute observation. He did well in the “game” but I haven’t been privy to any practices or sourced reports. Plus, if he’s basically the same guy after all this time physically then he’s probably tapped. I’ll have to go look how many mountain strong nose players we’re to play against in the big 12 to set a proper level of concern.
The little things that change legacies are kind of amazing.I still can’t believe KD had his toe on the line on the shot that would have eliminated the Bucks in Game 7 last postseason. He gave his all in that series. Was that his last good look at a title?

No doubt. That was the same series where Giannis declared KD the best player in the world. If KD’s toe had been an inch further back it would have gone down as an all timer for an individual series, especially if the Nets had gone all the way to the title.
And let’s not forget KD was on his way to his third straight finals MVP before injuring his Achilles in 2019.
There are a few unnamed guys on defense who might have improved the team by getting a turf toe.Good column as ususal and hard to argue with most of it. One item that I thnk is a bit tainted is the statement about not getting better as the year wore on. ABSOLUTELY no question that was the case, but I believe that was largely due to the complete lack of depth. As the year wore on we had some signiificant injuries to players that we absolutely could not afford to lose or not have at 100% (Thompson, J Whitt, DMO various other). I also think that Thompson's injury was at the very least a two loss injury compared to a healthy CT. Injuries are part of the game and showed how pathetically thin we were, but with a healthy CT for the entire season we will at least 7 games and probably 8 or 9.
Bad defense, bad o line, unproven QBs. Might be a tough year during the rebuild.
