Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend: (The problems on offense....)

Any insight on when Bond is back? The offense seemed to really miss him the past two weeks with only a few plays against UGA and none against Vandy.

Ohtani's gonna play in game 3? Ohtani's gonna play in game 3!

I mean. It's been said before. it's a completely different set of plays for Arch. Quinn is heavy RPO Arch is a traditional pro style pocket passer. You can't just plug and play and expect any continuity.

what got into the Hammers this weekend?
ManU couldn't finish good chances first half when they should've taken the lead. Hammers were pure dog poop 1st half.
Made 3 halftime changes to be more attacking and it worked. But ManU should've buried us early.

Great read as usual.
I don't think the sky is falling either but this team needs to play much better going forward.

Also…shout out carnal, I was at my girlfriend’s niece’s quince last night, which is why I’m so hungover.

Them boys had to make sure the guero could hang, so after 12 dos XX and probably 7 shots of tequila and 3 plates of asado, your boy is hurting today

Also weird Vietnamese women have quinces too, who’da thought?
Haha my man, that’s awesome. Back in my day, we used to hit a quince every weekend. I’m going to have one for my daughter and it’s going to be crunk.

The bottom line stops at the door of one person.

It's true. But even the greatest coaches of all time cannot reach ALL of their athletes all the time. I think Quinn has the yips as I mentioned last week (he isn't making throws he previously excelled at), and I am sure he already has a sports psychologist in addition to his coaches. I am sure he wanted more from himself than we have seen this season, and here we are, people have our current edition figured out and the rest of the year doesn't feel so jolly. Meanwhile there is Arch who is, by God, all ready to go. With Quinn we are getting multiple turnovers and no 40-yard TD passes. With Arch, we might get some turnovers, but he is also gonna burn people long, short, and all points in between. I have empathy for Sark. Your top goal can be to win, or your top goal can be to win as much as you can with Quinn Ewers. These goals not the same and you can only have a single #1 goal. I figure he probably thought he was gonna finesse it this season and send Quinn off happy and not as backup to Arch. Coach's meetings have probably been real goddamn exciting since Georgia.

Have you given thought that Sark isn’t the offensive genius everyone wants to think he is? It’s year 4 and we’ve been complaining largely about the same things all 4 years while the defensive is a solid and sound unit. Does he have great plays? Yes. Is he a great play caller? Maybe not.

B/S: You hold back (to some degree) in expressing your true thoughts about our QB situation bc of OB’ers reactionary tendencies
(Buy) I always hold back to some degree. There's never a completely unvarnished, unhinged expression of thought.

So, would you say that you give more of an 85% unvarnished, unhinged expression of thought?

Where does responsibility for all of this regression and inability to consistently succeed fall? I think we know.
Nobody remembers the games you hold on and survive.

Nobody gave a shit we squeaked out victories at TCU and Houston last year.

We dominated down the stretch and made the CFP

I expect similar results this year. We used to lose games like yesterday. Yesterday’s game really wasn’t nearly as close as the score seemed.

There was never a moment I was actually worried yesterday.

We have to be better, and we will be.

Why on earth does it seem that Sark will stick with Quinn no matter what? It’s as if moving on from Quinn is an admission of failure, and he can’t do that.

I am honestly not sure there is one single thing Quinn does better than Arch. His ceiling is clearly lower, and Quinn has repeatedly proven that his floor is exceptionally low.

This is bordering on coaching malpractice.

I really don't know how to reply.

Good follow-up question!

I feel like we saw this mid-season malaise/regression last year too. Almost lost to Houston and a few others. Managed to figure it out and play our best football Thanksgiving week and then again the week after in Arlington.

Just food for thought.
They don't feel the same to me. That run was created by the injury, while this is occutring with the return from injury.

It's been a month since there wasn't continuity.

If they fire ten Hag this week, I'll never forgive the Hammers.

Sark is going to believe they can get this turned around in the bye.
