Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (An Arch commit in the distance?)

How is this one not more widely known?
The movie was written by Ruth Gordon and Garson Kanin, the same writers who did Adam's Rib. Ruth Gordan got an Oscar for Rosemary's Baby and an Emmy for Taxi and in old age was hilarious in the Clint Eastwood films Every Which Way but Loose and Any Which Way You Can. George Cukor directed the film (best director Oscar for My Fair Lady). Jim Backus in a minor role. The film was intended to showcase Hepburn's athletic abilities. She was an avid golfer and tennis player, and indeed performed all the sports footage in the film herself.

The problem with Card wasn’t just that he looked totally unprepared - he did. It’s that he looked like he didn’t belong on the field. He was physically outmatched.

If/when Ewers struggles, he will still look the part of a D1 QB. He will make throws. He will stand in the pocket. He won’t look like a JV quarterback, which is exactly what Card did.
and you know this how...?

First. Career. Start. On. The. Road. As. A. Freshman.

I'd argue the real problem was the coach didn't see it coming a mile away and that guy has basically gotten a free pass for it.

Bingo. Nobody looked emotionally ready to compete with a piggie squad that looked like they had just slaughtered a feral hog in the locker room with stone daggers and eaten their pre game meal raw as sacrifice. Card was just one of the many.

I know it was a TV movie in the 70s, but Babe is great. Susan Clark as Babe Didrikson and Alex Karras play her husband. It is quite a life story, Olympic gold and then golf later.

How is there no edit to include a thought on the biggest Oscar moment EVER? By the only straight guy I know who lives for the Oscars.

The one when he was 3 of 5 for 52 yards, a touchdown pass and the interception?
And a fumble giving Kansas the ball just outside the red zone and leading to a touchdown just as the pick 6 interception did.

Because I knew last week was the week to do the Oscars section. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe I missed it somewhere..but wasn’t Owens and Cook supposed to be in this weekend also?

I wouldn't say she's very good at all, but some of the girls ahead of her in the line-up can't even hit the ball and Haven definitely mashes the ball better than anyone her team.

She's Adam Dunn-like.
If you want her to always have a spot, start getting her pitching lessons. Softball coaches are always looking for good pitchers!!

Second option would be catcher!

I suppose the same rules apply. He's still young.

Do you know Peyton Manning's stats as a freshman at Tennessee?

Geoff, I concur with your estimate of Vic Schaefer’s impact on WBB at Texas — I believe that we have finally found our coach and that he will take us to a national championship sooner rather than later. Vic seems to just get the best out of every player on his team.

I'm not sure where we're at. I'm not sure she knows how much she likes it.

2 d. Alfred Collins has his hands on the light switch.

is because of

2 b. The offensive line ain't yet right.

No, but it was more in line of what someone like Kyler Murray looked like as a first year player.

Or a million others

Sure would be nice to just win for once.

Hudson Card as the starter means we're doing a coaching search soon, and I was in the give him another shot last year group.

Ya did you see his QBR. The one where he ran to the sideline repeatedly and didn’t move the ball or give us a chance to win. The one with the pick 6, ya that one

He was still a young guy without a ton of experience.

Most of the all-time greats had similar starts.
