I second this idea. I believe a solid analysis of how we got here would be highly beneficial. Also possibly expound on your comments as to there being a "million things" that factor this into being a complicated rebuild. I have my thought on it which might or might not be more pessimistic than your own. Just curious to see your thoughts specifically.
Just an idea for a column or discussion in long form outside of a B/S question.
Why stir up a QB controversy right now? You posted Casey’s last 12 quarters of ratings, yet did not post Hudson’s 6 quarters of ratings?
You also never mentioned Casey leads the big 12 in passing touchdowns nor that Bijan’s rushing yards per game has gone up significantly since Casey became the starter.
Why are you painting Casey in a bad light and omitting other key stats?

I would be careful to assume that because I am saying there hasn't been anywhere near the behind the scenes volume that existed when Thompson was the back-up quarterback as the same thing as me not knowing anything about the situation.
Then you are implying there is more to the 'different' treatment then you're letting on.
I mean... is anyone under the impression that anyone or anything connected to Card is anything other than frustrated?
Do you know he is frustrated or is it assumed?

Im just going to assume if I look at your last 11 years you never bit the apple on that "we look good against each other" mess, but we sure have .. over, and over, and over again.
I know Sark gets paid the big bucks but I can see why shit vs shit looked good. We the fans fell for it for years. Its hard to come to terms even now with the richest school with the most resources blowing what has to be dozens of evaluations.

Except Casey has proven it {he's not the guy} over 12 quarters whereas an inexperienced Card only had 2 + quarters before he was benched, and arguably, prematurely at that.
Wow….yet Anwar says he was “right” or that Card was rattled and nobody has confidence in him anymore.

Hold up. So was Casey ready for the moment this second half after the pick 6? Or was he visibly shaken like Card? You can’t have it both ways Anwar.

THIS! It’s so weird that Card is held to a different standard and he is a REDSHIRT FRESHMAN! Casey has been awful more than he has been good against real opponents. He’s turned the ball over and he hasn’t quite “rallied the team”. He was rattled at home. Anwar and Ketch need to dive into this on the pod today. Why is Card held to a different standard?
So why Hudson Card?
We play 2 top 10 teams in back to back weeks and you’re calling out Casey’s performance dips? Isn’t that sort of expected?
What has changed with Hudson Card that you think we should put him back in at quarterback if Casey struggles against Baylor? Didn’t Iowa St’s senior quarterback also struggle against Baylor?
If I’m following your logic, once we build a large lead at halftime against Baylor, and if Casey struggles in the 3rd quarter again, you’re saying to put in Hudson Card at quarterback because that will resolve Texas blowing a double digit lead in the 4th quarter again? Please elaborate on that 🤣🤣
Calling Casey’s performance a “dip” is drastically understating it. He has been terrible.
Casey played against better teams than Hudson, and he still has better stats year to date than Hudson.
Casey threw 5 touchdown passes and had a career day against a top 5 program and rival.
Hudson Card folded against Arky, who at last check isn’t even a top team in the SEC West.
Apples and oranges, Anwar is correct here. Ketchum is the one stirring up controversies by not addressing why the team has blown double digit leads in the 4th quarter in back to back weeks against top 10 teams.
He’s played against two top 10 teams in back to back weeks.
He had the game of a lifetime (even with the second half dip) against OU. It wasn’t Casey’s fault that we lost against OU.

You are objectively wrong about this. Casey damn near cost us the TCU game with his awful decision making and lack of accuracy. He flat out cost us the game this weekend and he folded in the second half when adversity struck. Ketch isn’t stirring up anything. He has mentioned the 4th quarter meltdowns and guess what? Casey has been historically terrible in the 4th quarters of meaningful games. Not to mention the turnovers. If you think Casey is the answer at QB then I can’t help you.
Confused isn’t the word I’d use. Uncomfortable/rushed and hurt come more to mind. He made some great reads at times (Bijan TD), made a nice couple of throws, but also sailed some balls and held onto it way too long at times also. It was not a good day for him and the playcalling in the 2nd half coupled with penalties and no line didn’t help. Casey is a temperamental thrower but I think he at least generally knows where to go with the ball. He definitely has some miscues too trying to force throws.
Your head is buried in the sand. Casey was terrible against TCU, bad in the second half of OU, and terrible against Oklahoma state. That’s all there really is to it.
What has card done? I don’t know, because we haven’t seen him. He certainly can’t be worse than Casey has been.
Totally agree- And Card actually played a near perfect game against ULL. You develop the guy with the higher ceiling. That’s why he was named starter to begin with. If people hold the Arky game against Card, then they also need to hold the TCU, OK State games against Thompson. Starting to believe the two quarters against Oklahoma was a total outlier. And you can essentially throw away Casey’s Rice and Tech performances.
