Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (On Bru McCoy, Mount Vernon ISD and more ...)

My friend, claiming Trump is racist because the talking heads say so is ignorant. He's done more for minorities in this country than Big O dreamed. . . simple fact.
Jesus Christ.

Best and most impactful in the first decade? I would say Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger, Brady, Favre, Warner, Vick and Rivers all had more impact plays than McNabb. Could they all get in, sure, but when you rank those players, McNabb finishes behind them. When he presents his resume, he says look at my stats and I'm easily the top 7-8th player at my position for that decade. That doesn't scream HOF.

Just look at this passer rating. He only finished in the top five twice in his career. For his entire career he sits 35th between David Garrard and Jay Cutler. Woof!

He's also 9-7 in the playoffs with a superbowl loss. He had 350 yds in that loss but threw three ints.

FACTS . . . .WE DONT NEED NO STINKING FACTS.

You left off Rodgers and Russell.

Now Vick. ... he's another nice QB but not HOFer.

Of his peers, he trails:

Brady
Brees
Rodgers
P Manning
Farve
Warner
Big Ben
Russell

All pretty sure HOFers.

McNabb in a bunch with Rivers, E Manning (likely gets in with 2 SBs but not really worthy) Romo, Ryan.

As I said, he's an idiot (or anyone else) who thinks he could carry Troy's jock. Playoffs are the time to make teh HOF. Donovan was a dud in the playoffs

Per your own article. . .a trend that began under Obama . . ..Oops.

I linked a study showing evidence of racism actually decreasing under Trump. . .. confirmation bias to simply ignore facts that don't fit the agenda.

Guess when Ketch goes political, gloves are off. Love it, I have facts on my side . .. .vs opinions and unicorns.
Someone stated they’ve not increased. I was refuting that. I don’t think you can attribute that to one person on either side. I didn’t vote for Obama or trump.

Jesus Christ.

Man you don't like reality do you?

Tell me about Hispanic and AA unemployment.

Tell me about the rise in median income.

Tell me about the fall of people on welfare and in poverty.

Stop listening to MSNBC, Racheal is truly clueless.

Read the link study I posted showing incidents of racism falling under Trump while they rose under your boy.

You cannot be helped, so I won't try. Have a blessed day.

Don’t bring a facts to a feelings fight, bro

That was me. Someone posted that it's a much safer world today than at pretty much any point in history. Ketch responded by saying that's not true for hate crimes and racism. I was under the impression his message was that racism and hate crimes are not at historic lows. He was wrong. If his intent was rather that hate crimes started increasing under Trump, then he is also wrong on that point.

and yet one was clearly a much worse choice than the other.

*sigh*
Yes, the one that would consolidate more power to the federal government in DC and appoint a bunch of activist judges to the bench to shit on the constitution.
I think you need to talk to some women... ones not watching Fox News.
I don’t form my opinion from “watching” the news, nor does any of the women in my life. Maybe that’s your problem.

Not one person in this entire thread has mentioned section 10.

=)roll

Another liberal faced with FACTS who responds with personal attack.

I smell another thread deletion coming. For the record, you went political not me. You made personal attacks in response to facts.

There’s literally not an example from the thousands of examples of trumps racism that would suffice it for you. Not the central park five. Not anything. Your mind is made up and you are correct. The only facts that matter are the facts that support you guy.

@Ketchum

60 million+ people voted for him. You're damn right it is a relevant indictment on us as a society and the way we protect people who hurt women.

It is reckless and dangerous to insinuate that obviously the 60 million people who voted for Trump are somehow more likely to ignore and overlook sexual assault or rape. You chose to do that. When called out for being overtly political you basically played the, "well it is my website. so if you don't like it F-Off" card.

You sure you don't just want to go with "deplorables"? In my opinion, you are your biggest problem. I know you don't care as evidenced by you celebrating the fact throughout the thread.

Similar to ESPN for the past few years, you cannot resist the urge to grandstand (OR) soapbox and dictate moral outrage to people. You do this on any multitude of subjects. However, doing so also runs the risk of you alienating your subscriber base.

There have been a number of candidates involved in sexual misconduct on both sides of the political isle in my 40 plus years on this planet. I am sure none of them received the backlash Art Briles is getting. I loathe the man and wish he never got this job or any other.

For you to continually sit in judgement and act like you are on some kind of moral high ground, encouraging outrage and constantly turning the OBs climate towards the tone of your twitter account is pretty clueless and pompous simultaneously.

I would think you as the owner of the website would realize there is a time to just take a step back, be the better man and let the dust settle. Obviously, I was wrong.

If the story’s true about him just being homesick then he might want to back off the estrogen suppliments and romance novels ... Wow

In case any of you forgot what @Ketchum actually said, here's the quote:

"Tell her that the world talks a good game, but it might just grab her by the ..."

This was over the line? This was injecting politics?
His response itt have made it clear that he meant to inject politics into this situation. I’d just like to know what policies he’s pushing that are a threat to women?

The need to personally appoint themselves as the moral compass for someone else is easily one of the most repulsive traits that have exploded in the social media era.

This is one of my favorite sentences that I've read in quite a while. Spot on.

I like the passion on both sides of the aisle, but I very much dislike the indignation people instantly throw up. There's an overwhelming lack of desire to see things from anyone else's perspective it seems.

Which may be the best reason breaking your own rule regarding political posting was a poor decision.
I can’t help it that caping for an evil man is more important than caping for those veterans in need for those in this thread.

One thing received a single sentence in the column, while the other received an entire section. Yeah it’s my fault that the focus is on the small instead of the large.

You really don't grasp irony do you?

You hate Trump, he could cure cancer and you'd bitch he put Drs out of work.

PS, like your failed attempt to show Donovan is "Hall worthy" (now that's laughable), you have not given a single example of Trump's supposed "racism". . . ..while you ignore staunch liberals like jim brown standing up for him.

In fact he just created a new divission of Govt to go into inner cities to help fix the problems. Lead by my good friend scott turner. . . ..who happens to be a former NFL player, former texas house rep and. . . . .. wait for it. . . . . .BLACK MAN

OTOH, under Trump's leadership, minorities are coming off poverty rolls, they are working and their incomes are going up. . . . .this isn't the bullshit part time jobs of your boy.

Your entire tirade is based on emotions not facts.:rolleyes::rolleyes::oops::oops::oops::oops::eek::eek::eek::eek::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Apologies. I channeled my inner George Carlin. Somethings always remain relevant.

thanks for typing the words. i dont react on emotion so I will reevaluate my commitment to OB later this week. sucks to have a leader of a community that I have personally invested in act out in the manner that you do. cheers, its been a good ride.

regarding section 10 its like your opinion man...just like politics. dont start no shit wont be no shit. pretty simple

what keeps almost everyone out of jail in these situations?
I hear you, but was there anything more specific than that? Did anyone go to jail over all of that? Did Waco PD sweep this all under the rug without anyone getting convicted? Was Briles defense that he didn't know about the abuse?

I'm not playing Devil's advocate here or trying to defend anyone. I'm honestly curious.

What on Earth makes you think I’m taking a shot at dairy farmers? Dear Lord, the guy literally shows up to schools and events and shows people how to milk a cow. It’s the only online presence of him I can find outside of the school board. That’s a professional Milk Man, ie he works in the milk business. It’s the same, to me, as saying oil man, land man, football man, etc.
There was no snark in calling him a “milk man”? I’m finding that really hard to believe.

I'm not trying to get in the way of anyone fighting sexual abuse.

I just don't like how half the country wants to vilify Trump, and half the country wants to point fingers at Clinton, but nobody seems to be able to admit they were both sexual predators that probably should have gone to jail.

I'm a grown-up now, not a teenager.

I can assure you that I'm not into misogynistic music as a decision-making adult.

And none of those rapers are lifted up to be the leaders of the free world by enablers that will apparently excuse any behavior, whether it's sexist, racist, spitefulness... you name it.

then they show up online and call other people hypocrites.

Who did you vote for in 2016? Let me guess, Green Party candidate?

I don't have it in me to cape for an Eagle today. I'm wrong. You win.

I should note that I started the Mcnabb discussion to change the subject. I don’t feel I won the debate as Mcnabb was an impactful player just not HOF worthy, IMO

Now I am just waiting for the righteous indignation recruiting centers to start popping up everywhere.

I equally loathe anyone (political or religious) who feels the need to shame those who have a different viewpoint or aren't sufficiently and similarly outraged over some current hot-button social issue they have adopted.

Trump has dozens of policies that have HELPED minorities more than they had been helped before Trump.

He also worked with and for minorities for so long that back in 1986 he won the prestigious Ellis island award presented to those that work specifically in helping immigrants, minorities, and “people in need”. He only became “racist” when he announced he was running for president as a Republican.

While I disagree with you politically, it's your site and your prerogative to break any rule. And I'd be fine with this debate being held in the Corral.

But once you bring politics into a thread, you can't be surprised when the partisan political arguments take over, no matter how firmly you're convinced of the righteousness of your position. And of the evil on the other side.

It's a shame the arguments were allowed to overwhelm the thread.
